2026 Novice Chasers

Yeah, gut tells me they won’t be at Cheltenham this season, Will keep an eye on things, but should be able to cash out if needs be, price has shortened a tad
Only way i could see him at cheltenham is if he bolts in next time

Otherwise itll be aintree

Dont think JP wanted him winning that one lol

Didnt hide it very well

But big owners and comnections wont be questioned
Don’t know for sure what was going on today obviously, but the horse is no natural over fences imo, and could well have ended up on the deck had he been more aggressive.
Stewards should look though imo.

Yeah. I agree. Nicholls did not fill me with hope about Cheltenham 2026 for Regents Stroll. I came away thinking they think they've got a definite Gold Cup horse for 2027. Said he was definitely a 3 miler and they want to look after him.

I'm biased because I've bought a tail hair in him but I just can't see how Wendigo doesn't uphold the Newbury form with Regents Stroll if they meet over 3 miles this season. The form is solid with the race time being 6 seconds faster than Twinjets in the following handicap.

We can be kind and call it an "Educational" ride

Didnt pick up the whip once. Flailed his elbows a little so as not to sit completely motionless.

Well regents stroll not pulling like a lunatic would make a big difference.

Certainly wouldnt rule out that form being reversed at some point this season.

Will require regents stroll maturing mentally quite a bit though.

Absolutely would make a big difference if he had settled as he did today, against Wendigo.
I like both horses and have backed accordingly, one runner out the two would be nice!! If not both.
Looks like Wendigo more likely to turn up.

A lot of Jimmy loving recently. I wonder if he rocked all over this morning at Willies racecourse morning 😉

I'm in the same situation with a share however I can see Regents Stroll would be a massive danager if he learns to settle there was some engine under the hood to do what he did that day and still finish as close as he did.

I think if you like one you probably have to like the other, IMO.

Wendigo had race fitness on his side, not to mention how much of a loony RS was on his seasonal debut.

Whatever happens though it's exciting times for you guys who have a share in Wendigo, and wish you the best of luck with him 🙌

Thanks @ComplyOrDie if it looks like Wendigo is going to make the Festival, I think I am going to have to drive down and make my first visit to the festival to watch him run.

I'd agree that Regents Stroll has an engine and, as he's started favourite in 6 of his 7 runs over obstacles, he clearly works well at home. However, of those 7 runs, he has only won 3 times and the 4 losses were the ones at graded or listed level. He has finished behind Wendigo twice now and, while his breeding suggests that he should get further, his style of racing hints that the hill might find him out at the end of a BANC. They skipped Cheltenham for Aintree last season and you wouldn't be surprised if it happened again this season.

Yeh couldnt touch RS with a barge poll, more than likely isnt going to Cheltenham and isnt good enough at graded level so no reasons to back him at all. Just looks like another of those for Nicholls that can look fancy beating up handicappers or taking advantage at Aintree when others have had a tough season, but nothing more than that.

Also a part owner of the little legend Wendigo all aboard the Browns train, hopefully a clean run this time so he can really show what he is made of over 3 mile.

Thought he dropped his whip early on myself, wouldn't use it on him anyway, his head went bolt upright when slapped last time, they'd say he's a character or a thinker to be charitable.

Well we can all see things differently
Imo he’s a touch of class and 3m chasing will bring the best of him.
Would have been close with Wendigo had he settled as he did yesterday.
Yes he’s not certain to be targeted at the BANC, but if he were to turn up I shall be glad I took the prices on offer.

Looks like Soldier In Milan is heading straight over fences. I think his only entry is in the 2m1 beginners chase. Presume cashing out of hurdles is still possible for those who can.

Legs like Coneygree...apparently.

Thats regarding Soldier In Milan, not BDA.
