2026 Novice Chasers

Hopefully put the card on again sometime this week.

I just like him. The very first time I saw him jump a hurdle, he was long at them, didn't have a massive turn of pace but ended up winning his 2m maiden so stayed there longer than I would have wanted. His form petered out towards the end of the season but I kept him in the notebook as a chaser to follow. His ability might not amount to much hence the 66/1 price but he looks the type to excel over a fence much more than his hurdling ability.
Did okay. Typical stayer. Not flashy but still quite good first time out. He isn't a BANC winner but he could run in one. Interested to see how he goes next time out.

Regent's Stroll entered up over 2m4f at Wincanton on Tuesday.

Jeriko Du Reponet also entered.

I see a madness on Unibet, Regent's Stroll has been cut from 16/1 into 7/1 over the past two weeks for the Jack Richards Handicap Chase 🤦‍♂️
Interesting it is not just one big cut either. Since priced up on the 28th Nov he has hit every price down, with yesterday being cut from 9's to 8's and then finally 7/1. Whether genuine or not is another matter!

It's like the bookies are aware that there are idiots out there.
Who fucking told them.

I've just watch Cobden on the PP Podcast on You Tube and he seems certain that he will get 3m in the Kauto Star, so I think the Browns is still the aim.

I'll be surprised if they go for the Kauto Star, he's entered up in two beginners chases next week, I'm sure he'll probably take one of them entries up, which wouldn't leave him much time until the KS.

Karoline Banbou declared for a 2 mile Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday. She might be a wildcard for the Arkle or the Mares Chase. Willie spoke very positively about her going over fences.

….its a race highlighted in @Saxon Warrior race planner with the Arkle in mind. Mullins says this tonight in his SL column;

‘She looks a sharper type than Karamoja but there’s not much between them. She might have the edge in this over the trip and will go on the track and the ground.’

Not seeing her in any Arkle market but it is a race with a history (Majborough won it last year).

Not a bad run there from Karoline Banbou first time out, again, against a twice race fit Elliott horse. She will almost certainly be stepped up in trip with a view to the mares chase if good enough.

Nice form boost for Kitzbuhel there from TE
Very nice Carnage. It looks very impressive when you drill down into it. Both Kitzbuhel and The Enabler are stayers, Kitzbuhel beat The Enabler 11 lengths over 2m 2f who has just gone on to win by 15L against some decent opposition upped to 2m 5f

Hasn’t Kitzbuhel been moved to France, flat racing??
I was just about to ask you if you had lost your marbles......

And then i checked, the form sites are showing him running in a flat race at Lyon but everything about it seems wrong, colours, owner, trainer etc. I am baffled. He is entered in the Faugheen. Surely some sort of glitch.

On Irish racing. com
Says Kitzbuhel last race was in France, his next race is the Faugheen!!
New owner but still with Mullins
Sporting life firm has no mention of France race, but RP does
I’m confused!!!

Romeo Coolio - "3 miles would be the answer"

Not sure how old this is but Tote put this up 3 days ago as part of Gordon's stable tour.

I don't have him covered for the BANC and still think he would have a better chance over 2m so not rushing to cover him, especially as he will very likely go 2m at Christmas with Kopek out.

Not necessarily one on people's minds but thought worth noting - would advise leaving TAPONTHEGO alone for anything at the Festival.
He is/was very much on my mind for the 2m4 Novices Handicap Chase on the Thursday. Is there a problem with him ?
