2026 Novice Chasers

yeah, his entry for dublin is a positive sign that they are looking at bringing him back in spring
Yes I thought that too. Elliott had said they were putting him away after Down Royal - saving him for nicer ground. The three figure prices on BFX were a madness.

Final Demand is the right fav here but it’s certainly a turning into a deep race.

I’ve fancied Romeo for the BANC since his first run over fences

However, and it’s the same with most of GE’s, I’m concerned he’s already peaked him this season and maybe asking a bit too much aswell as too much messing around with trip.

Kappa Jy Pyke looks a bit of value today against Predators Gold. Though Salvator Mundi didn't frank the form on next run, Kappa jumped and travelled really well suggesting there could be any amount of improvement to come. Predators Gold was impressive in his own right and is the pick of Townend, but a top performance after a 582 absence would still leave him a potential bounce candidate even granted a 36 day break.

Can't help but think the other three runners, with ratings of 138 and 139, may have handicaps in mind with this being a 'nothing to lose' type of race.

Well done sir!!
Reckon PG would appreciate a bit further

Thanks. Bit of a strange race. Pace looked pedestrian early and I was swearing at Danny giving Kappa so much to do in last. However, picked up nicely in the end. Didn't think he looked that comfortable jumping at the slow pace either. Interested what rating he gets now and where they are thinking next. Could be an in between horse but knowing Mullins record in handicap chases at the Festival...

Thanks Eggs
That may be a bit of an overreaction?
Possible a bounce factor today?
Given the ammunition they have over 3 miles this year, and that he had been off the track for a year, I'm concerned that they'll hold him back for Aintree. There's no need to overface him this year.

I'm coming to the conclusion that Gordon will run Romeo in the Arkle, because he has Western Fold for the BANC.

Different owners, yes, but Gordon wouldn't want his two best novice chasers running in the same race and Western Fold looks a 3 miler, and in fairness has some serious form to his name! I've just gone in on him at 33/1.

I do wonder how the horses at the top end of the market for the BANC would be getting on against the likes of Affordale Fury & Envoi Allen!

I've also played the related double @ 305/1.

Kala Conti can go Mares Chase. Why is there such a price disparity between Kala Conti and Kargese in the Irish Arkle though? Will Kala Conti go for the 2m 5f instead? Or bypass DRF altogether?

….Western Fold BANC boosted to 33-1 with PP (best price 20-1 elsewhere).
