2026 Novice Chasers

Be afraid, be very afraid…….’The Beast from the North’ will devour those Aintree fences, making them look like hurdles…..

Expect them’s bookmakers to cut the price further when they see what a Monster he is in the flesh, especially when comparing him against the others horses that look like ponies…..

And when he romps to a facile win expect further cuts in price for the best chance, this side of the Irish Sea, we have on winning the 2026 BANC and more importantly the 2027 GC!

Come the D Paddy !🤩
So you like him a little bit then Wayward?

What gave you that idea? 😂
Agree with you completely though. They've always said whatever he does over Hurdles he'll make a far better chaser. He was a pretty damn good Hurdler!!

I think the whole forum quite literally has this lad backed for the BANC. Most will have the Turners winner. We could all be singing and dancing after a few races on the Wednesday.

Whilst it’s a bit of a catchphrase around better chaser than hurdler/marking time blah blah…….but you can believe it with Monsters like D Paddy!

He showed great tenacity in his races as well and he’s with a stable that is going to be more at the top table IMO nowadays especially with chasers, both through past success (Corach, Myretown etc), the addition on MS as assistant trainer and maybe better quality horses being bought on the back of the infrastructure and success?

'Theyre both fine big mares, they both schooled well over fences last week. Paul was happy with both of them. Looking at a mares hurdle, Kargese is quite keen, are you going to stretch her out over 2 and half in what is normally a slowly run race, maybe not, so does she go chasing? And Jade, maybe you keep her for a mares hurdle, or maybe you go for the mares chase. Kargese would look an Arkle mare, she gave Gino a fair rattle at Aintree, county hurdle form working out quite well, I just think Kargese could be very good over fences, I think she could be better over fences than she was over hurdles'

Not a definitive decision made so just be careful for now (y)

Be right up there on ratings wouldn't she. Makes a lot of sense, if she's genuinely schooled well.

Most interesting rival to Kopek if she goes.

Would be more likely Danny would get the leg up too rather than Patrick

PT might ride her yet....

Danny was keen on her going chasing to be fair

Aye, always a concern with Willies second strings these days. But you'd like to think Danny here.

Brighterdaysahead 20/1

I don’t want to be breaking my rules here….. (I’m about to say but…..)….. BUT…..

Was just listening to Ruby on the Paddy Power Preview and he made a good point, one which I never consider about State Man, and that he thinks BDA pushed Stateman on their first appearance so much that Stateman may have felt the consequences when he under ran and she flew home.

We seen form lines tie up side down throughout the season, especially with some of the big names running against each other.

20/1 for the Arkle, with a mate allowance back in novice company.

My biggest worry is that she’s “bombed” at Cheltenham twice now. But maybe the CH and last race of the season was caused by that high performance. I just can’t help think she will be shorter on the day. She’ll likely run against easier competition in her first 2 races, Gordon hardly send them to the DRF so would be interesting where he takes her

Anyone else been tempted, she has a fair few negative markers but really struggling to ignore her hurdling RPR - the ability is there and make her the best horse going novice chasing atm

……. someone bring me back to earth lol

He'll be sensible and do a Willie and go for the race she has the best chance of winning .....Mares Chase

Entered at Gowan on Sat over 2m

Wins that and 20/1 gone forever!

If she shows she can jump at speed, then why would they consider a G2 chase rather than Arkle at the festival?

Was always thought of being a chasing type, but last year early season put some amazing 2m hurdle performances in that meant chasing waited a year

The majority of non believers are cool on her Arkle chances based around previous Cheltenham performances………..however will fences change that narrative around track worry?

Whilst I have also backed Kargese for the Arkle then 20/1 is nuts about the highest rated 2m hurdler from last season going chasing

If I am right then we can trade the price afterwards to reduced risk from the track worry concern…..simples🤪

Ah if this game was that easy eh😂😂

Both JDG and Kargese going chasing would suit my ante post portfolio very nicely thanks😂

Brighterdaysahead is a tricky one this season as I'd be pretty sure the O'learys will decide where she runs (Elliot probably lost some sway last year after persuading them to go champion)
However, the Arkle is a grade one against novices and both sexes.
Vs the mares chase a grade 2 against older mares and not just novices.
Tough call as to which is going to be the easiest option at this stage.

The decision should really be about whats the best trip based on her jumping ability and speed etc. And the quality of opposition in the races as they shape up nearer the time.
History of the O'learys would suggest the mares chase is most likely IMO. Which the betting suggests.

I remember o"leary stating last year that her trip was 2m4f
