Gordon won the Mares with Black Tears when another WPM hotpot was all the rage, can’t run scared from one.

True, but she's already beaten her easily. I'm not sure Gordon would want to take her on again. That could make up their minds if she were entered for both the Mares and Stayers. As the races are both on the Thursday now, they could leave it right to the last minute. Of course it would be a lot easier if Lossie goes CH.

So you still reckon the Stayers is in the equation. If so Gordon will have the race by the short & curlys.

I think it could be yeah. In his stable tours he's said Hattons and working back from Mares every time. Suddenly she's at Ascot and they now want to chat re plans going forward. Worth remembering she's also won 5 of her 8 over here so the thought of coming back to Ascot for the Long Walk might not be that silly. We'll see. She's really growing on me. Super impressed today and beat a decent horse in Celtic Dino who could yet end up in the CH.

Anyway, I'll shut up now....😂

Honesty Policy is looking likely for the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury on Friday. I think you are over thinking it. Gordon’s just splitting his battalion of staying hurdlers while he can.

There's no chance she ends up anywhere other than the mares. Gordy is absolutely desperate for festival winners, especially after last year. He's got enough to run in the stayers but even withstanding that, he'll run her in the race she's got the best chance of winning

After lossie winning yesterday, I saw that she had come into 11/4 for the champion hurdle....I then fully expected to see she had drifted in the mares....but she's been cut into 9/4 🤣🤣🤣

No chance of a drift after a win. Only chance of that is if connections namechecked one or the other after the race. It will happen with all potential Supreme winners in the Turners too and mostly Arkle to BANC

November 22, Ascot – Ascot Hurdle

There’s a resistance to getting on the Cheltenham bandwagon in November, but Kateira put in a strong audition for the Mares’ Hurdle against the boys (and Wodhooh) in the Ascot Hurdle.

Dan Skelton’s mare has always been talented and she has taken the scalps of some useful horses over her career – defeating fellow Ascot winner Jango Baie in a handicap hurdle at Aintree in 2024 and romping home, twenty-eight lengths clear of last year’s Champion Hurdle winner Golden Ace (who had excuses), on seasonal reappearance at Wetherby.

A small, neatly put together mare, she falls short in open company but her female only record gives cause for interest ahead of the Mares’ Hurdle. Fit from her reappearance run, she finished a well-beaten fourth behind Wodhooh in the Ascot Hurdle but it was a performance that defied her odds and some fair yard sticks.

The Skelton team would have to perform some sorcery for Kateira to turn around the Wodhooh form come March, but she appeals as an each-way prospect – 33/1 available. Should the mare skip Cheltenham to help the trainers championship tussle, she’d be equally interesting at Aintree along the same lines.
 
Mares Hurdle fav but all options open for Wodhooh....

“This morning I’d say the mares’ race (Mares’ Hurdle) should be where she’ll be going, but the Stayers’ Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle aren’t out of the question.
“She’s so lackadaisical and laid-back, she’s not fancy working and nothing fazes her, but she just keeps winning.
“She gave Lossiemouth a run for a her money (when second in the Aintree Hurdle) and I think she’s a stronger mare and a better mare this year.”

Wodhooh-Super-Mare

Somer will know where I'm coming from.....

“She’s cracking, it’d be ideal to get her over a fence at Christmas but you have to deal with the cards you’re handed.
“She’s jumped class, she’s been awesome, but she just twisted a leg behind."

I get the impression she won't be jumping a fence this season.......

Mares Hurdle for me.

Maybe the fact that she still resembles a large enough snooker table over a fence, like was said prior to start of last season

If they are to send her elsewhere and rely on BDA Mares, More likely to go CH maybe if Teahupoo looks good ?

I'd have no interest in her in the Champion Hurdle personally. And would like to think Gordy isn't really that stupid... Although he probably is
