2026 Juveniles

I can't see anything on the Racing Post site which seems poor. Had been trying hard to find something to oppose the favourite, but failed. Is this the first big name to go?

I originally backed Mange Tout, but cashed out. Not too disappointed, she lacks substance, and looks a short term prospect.

The market suggests Feel Gut isn't going to run, anyone confirm? I thought the Warwick win looked pretty good, or indeed gut.

"These are junior races so they're for inexperienced horses, and he slotted into this by one day. He can go in one of those again and he'll still be a novice for next season, so we can box clever or see what he's made of by running him in a decent race. Even if he didn't win that, he's still a novice hurdler for next season."

Henderson after the Feel Gut race, nothing been said since that I've seen, I'd make sense to go straight there imo, win and you've a Grade 1 in the bag, lose and you've a novice for next season with some festival experience under the hood.

Thanks.

I had forgotten that they also own Macho Man, who beat it on debut. Maybe they will only run one?

So gutted for NH backers.

This news made me think back to the following quote…

“I thought he looked the winner before the last. He’s still as weak as a kitten and he’ll be an even better four year old.

An interesting quote from the trainer of the horse that I believe already has the highest RPR of any horse left in the field though I stand to be corrected..

Most will know who this is about but just in case …Minella Study…I had to remind myself that he was still in the betting

You have been told :ROFLMAO:

Doesn't he need good ground? Had a little chuckle when Mellish was talking him up, and suggested he wanted soft ground! Also not too sure One Horse Town ran his race that day.

….North Shore is still 66-1, think somebody on here said the Cromwell stable thinks a lot of him;

‘He’s a horse we like and is going for the Triumph Hurdle. He’s still a maiden, but he has twice run well in Graded hurdles. Ridden closer to the pace, he could well show up well at a big price.’

Had a look back at their races. Feel Gut was outpaced on debut, but stayed on nicely. His big asset looks to be his jumping. I think Macho Man is more of a pacey type and maybe a stamina track wouldn't be a plus. He also has a tendency to jump right which also wouldn't be a plus. All the form is relatively untested.

Jp maybe unlikely now to run three in the Fred winter and only one in the triumph?

Saratoga only has the option of the fred winter. I'd imagine there's a good chance they already knew narciso might be out when declaring mustang in the dovecote for a run that looks like it could be to qualify for the FW. Could see manlaga being sent triumph now. Already rated 137 with the allowance added in and wasn't asked for everything last time, if she can run into the 140s she'd be in the mix in an open looking race.

He's a great ew price, I was hoping he'd be ridden more competitively last time but was still the same 11 lengths behind Narsico as he was the first time they met, screw will getting turned on him over the coming weeks and the yard seem to have them better than they was 2 months ago, fingers are crossed here as have a fair few ew bites at 100/1.

I think Mustang and Majolique look the best each way NRNB plays going into this weekend after today's news.

Does Majolique not need a run over hurdles? Flat race in France she ran in Q.

I had her noted down at the very start given connections but have given up seeing her.

She's been declared to run on Sunday at Naas.
In the winning fair listed race.
Unless she's pulled.

Possible though if we take the trainer at his word then he may have lacked the strength to handle soft ground as a 2yo. Not sure what SM said but not sure how he could conclude anything significant either way. Hopefully the ground won’t be anything extreme and there’ll be no excuses for anything.

….Mullins;

‘I was hoping to get her ready for Cheltenham but it’s probably too late now at this stage. She’s ready to start out here though and looks a real nice type at home. She has to take on horses with hurdling experience which makes it tough.

Sounds like she'd have to murder them and look super impressive to even make him consider it.
Although we can;t be sure of this was said before the Narciso Has news or not.

PN has a super record in the Adonis. His FOA is outsider of the field today . Can see him causing a surprise.

Decent performance that, pulled throughout, carried a penalty, still won with a bit in hand, think he's enjoyed the ground more than a few of them.
Mind La Luna Artiste, jockey very easy on her from the 2nd last, bit further wouldn't hurt her either.
Done it well there, think the Fred Winter might be out of the question, have to see how Matiwo goes later before they make any decisions about the pair, probably Aintree bound.
