2026 Champion Hurdle

The main reason I’ll be so annoyed if he runs
As I’ve said many times in long winded fashion
Is if Gino was fit they would not run him
That’s proof to me that this is not about the horse or the schooling.
It’s for them
Pride ego whatever the fuck it is
But nothing to do with what’s best for the horse which they have consistently talked about for years
Sat in garden sun bathing in Sheff

Found it interesting the owner talking about a plan on the flat culminating in the Melbourne Cup.
I get the feeling that he will need to be really convinced after this schooling that his horse has no issues with jumping and will be winning the CH.

Yep. Others have said that they wouldn't still be schooling him if they weren't seriously thinking of running in the CH but the fact that they are having to do that so extensively this close is a huge worry for me . I just can't see him being risked.

I can’t remember Nicky ever saying that CH ever had any schooling problems in the past, still fell, so not sure how much it matters how well it goes this week, I take it they are not going much speed when schooling. If it a mental problem nobody will know till the day and actually racing at full pelt.

I’ve limited knowledge about this, so I could be talking rubbish

Be a strange one, wanting to avoid fast summer ground then going for the Melbourne Cup, its always ran on a green road.

You wouldn't be going racing pace generally as its about technique and getting them doing it without having to think so its all flowing, natural to them, but if you've a race coming up you'll get them going flat out at them just to get their eye in so he'll go a proper pace in this one for sure.

He's going to run and he's going to win. Get ready for one of the best stories in racing history when he wins on the Tuesday, the roof will come off!
I'm hoping he runs and gets beat fair and square. I don't think I can take much more of Nicky wobbling around on ITV like a plate full of jelly.

Definitely not rubbish imo.
To me the only way they can use the schooling as the big decision deal, is so they can say it weren’t satisfactory and they can use that as a reason for not running which would be understood by the vast majority.

I’ve limited knowledge too so I could be talking rubbish.

I gave you a clue at the last in the international , you didn’t figure it out and guess what happened next and in your personal favourite race as well, then you took me to Liverpool and now I know no fuckers listening to me. Your solution let’s take him to Ireland for a change of scenery and how much clearer can I make it …apparently not clear enough coz then you send me to Newcastle (like you think taking me to places where their football fans spend their entire life telling you they are the best fans in the world is going to motivate me) well guess what, you fucked me over again…..and now I’ve got to listen to some cunt that thinks he’s smarter than the average bear.

And here’s the kicker…you get off on telling the world how much you love me…fucking funny way of showing it…go fuck yourself

Yours

The horse you don’t fucking deserve.

Yeah that was my thinking, just come up with some bullshit like he schooled terrible so they can stick to the flat with limited stick. In their minds they'll think they've picked up some morality points.

Best way to get something out of this session, is to have him do it with 3 or more others, let him do a few alone at first, then send him with the others, couple behind or a couple in front, one alongside, get him to focus on the hurdles with horses around him as doing it alone is a different ballgame to what he'll face in the CH, knowing his issues if he lined up, and I was riding against him, I'd be doing all I could to unsettle him cause that'd be my job, take every advantage you can & try to win hence wanting him jumping amongst horses before the day.

Nothing will replicate the trepidation in the real race though
I’m not sure the horse will be as fussed as the jockey
Nico will be shitting it and pretending he’s not

TBF he's a braver man than me, I wouldn't be getting up on him either, they're a different breed those jump jockeys, balls like Buster Gonad.
