2026 Champion Hurdle

Just realised Constitution Hill was clocking 40mph at Southwell, was not expecting that!
With all respects to the horse, Wilde's Legacy was clocking 40mph and a bit at Lingfield in its bumper over the final 2 furlongs, that's a 33/1+ poke in the bumper.

Has there ever been issues with his schooling? Rumours previously have been denied by the yard anyway.
Not that I know of, but I take everything a trainer says in public with a dollop of salt hence the apparently.

Lingfields finish is downhill isnt it

They said on sky sports racing con hill clocked the 2nd fastest closing sectionals in history at southwell

I mean that is a bit like holding the course record at a crazy golf course but still

Preety flat, bend is downhill, mean to replicate Epsom, having never been to Epsom I couldn't vouch for it.

Yeah the fastest final 2f....somethign else I'd take with a pinch, as you say given the calibre of racing there, and the change in surface over the years.

What's the highest rated flat horse to run at Southwell ever?

The whole thing is comparable to Ronaldo banging in goals in the Saudi Arabian league :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Its embarassing for horse racing. They have let the influencers in, no serious racing journalism about.

Fine line between being embarrassing for racing and getting a bit of publicity to a game for miserable old bastards imo

Racing Post reporting that participation depends on a schooling session this week.

I find that a bit strange. Hasn't Henderson always described his schooling sessions in terms of superlatives? What's different now?

My guess is that the decision to run has already been made. It just looks better if they don't come straight out with it.

After listening to the Michael Buckley interview on Nick Luck on Sunday then let's hope Constitution Hill's schooling session goes well this week and let's hope he can regain his crown. It was a very down to earth, heart-felt interview

That was my thinking, all the comments before his Fighting Fifth run were nothing but positive.
To be fair I stopped listening to Hendo a while back, not sure he knows what he's saying half the time...

The main reason I’ll be so annoyed if he runs
As I’ve said many times in long winded fashion
Is if Gino was fit they would not run him
That’s proof to me that this is not about the horse or the schooling.
It’s for them
Pride ego whatever the fuck it is
But nothing to do with what’s best for the horse which they have consistently talked about for years
