I would be surprised if he won and didn’t run, but 8’s is a tempter imo
To be honest I ain’t got a clue
😆
My thoughts are if he wins impressively then there's more chance he stays down the flat route and goes for an Ebor

Kind of agree and hope is the case. If it was a prep for Cheltenham, why not go Kingwell? Surely it is to see if there is any longevity in a season or two on the flat? I would be inclined to think of an even less positive reaction to the horse galloping around Southwell with nothing to jump to then showing up next time and quickly having a hurdle to negotiate.

Are we all ready for the hysteria after the flat race tonight?

Regardless, whether he wins or loses you just know social media will go into some sort of meltdown!

Have to say I don’t fancy him one bit! Think he’ll end up midfield or pulled up.

It’s a good half mile shorter than he’s ran over his career, different surface, he’s going to have to be at top speed a lot earlier than he’s use to because others will make him have to imo. At his peak his cruising speed was his main asset nothing could live with him to get him going any earlier but as a 9 year old flat debutant I just don’t think he’ll produce.

From what I've read from the experts the general consensus is that he'll not be going CH regardless of what happens tonight. That has to be the right decision imo.

Pretty sure he'll be perfectly ok. He's not slow at all. The great Sea Pigeon won an Ebor and was 6th in the Derby so I don't see any issues for him over a mile and a half.Red Rum won over 5f !!

I agree, I don't think he'll win, but would the only way he gets pulled up is if he is injured. He'll be plenty quick enough to beat a fair few of them home, but they may against the more fancied types.

Aye pulled up was maybe a stretch, just don’t think he’s shown anything that he’s anything close to the same horse he once was. He certainly isn’t going to be any quicker at 9 years old that’s for sure.

I don't think his racing ability is in question for me, his jumping ability however, that is the problem really, isn't it?
