2026 Champion Hurdle

Just said on Racing TV that Sir Gino walked into the horse ambulance. Fingers crossed.

I didn't really feel that Nico ever looked comfortable during the race but the jump at his last hurdle wasn't bad at all.

Hopefully it wasn't bad as it looked but got to fear the worst.

Let’s hope so, as I’m fearing the worst
I did when live, but whole leg lifted and it was "flopped" at any joint so, fingers crossed it wasn't a break in the leg.
Everything bar a leg break he lives, whether its to fight another day I wouldn't be too sure about.

fingers crossed
dont really care whether we'll see Sir Gino on a race track again, just hope he's ok and can find a field somewhere - i thought he was going to be put down at the track

all that after nearly losing his life last season - its just not meant to me for this amazing horse

As horrible as it is, at first glance with regards to the result, run to suit or not a Champion Hurdler pulls clear of Neamean Lion and Brentford Hope there, IMO.
He did it easy enough. They were going at 24 mph for most of the first mile. It was only ever turning into a sprint after the last and hard to look impressive in those circumstances.

Possible he was just lame? Walked into ambulance which is a decent sign you'd think

Got to sprint at some point in a Champion Hurdle though. Taken off his toes, IMO.

Interesting what Mullins does next weekend now.
No real reason to send out a team of horses to test Lossie anymore.
Just risking something daft happening IMO.

Also interesting what happens with Con Hill now ?
Would they dare risk something happening to him now ?

Nico stopped having to pull him back a hurdle or two before he pulled up lame.

I think the Donnellys will still win the Champion Hurdle.

The New Lion to place

Still on the Anzadam train?
tbh, I need to take another look at this race - maybe before the DRF
Not been keen on Anzadam to date but I want to be backing a 2 miler, not a middle distance horse like Lossiemouth, TNL

Constitution Hill into 6/1 has to be the worst ante post price at the moment.

Just can't see Hendo risking him whatsoever

You'd hope a flat run would be less of an issue for him, given his biggest concern is his hurdling!
