2026 Champion Hurdle

I am the other side of the fence. Backed for CH months back but still not convinced she runs just yet. Any excuse and she’s back to the mares I reckon. Too short to do anything with now IMO. You still say on mares ticket?
Got the big red drinking voucher on the mares. Shes to short to cover the CH as well. Just thought i would ask what others have done. Was all over the CH for her last year

I wouldn't make hasty decisions like cashing out for a loss, if its a big enough loss that is. There will be loads of back and forth nonsense you would think like there was last season, one comment indicating she's going for the mares and then another indicating the champion hurdle, and odds going up and down each time, especially the closer we get to the festival. So plenty of opportunity I would say to get out without losses at some point if you choose to.

QUESTION.
Where is everyone to with Lossiemouth? Have you cashed at a loss for the Mares Hurdle, and rebacked for the CH or are you still sat on your bet?
Not backed her for either race
Just have to take it on the chin if she runs in the CH, as she certainly should do imo and probably most others .
Only a sudden change with CHill or a fit again Sir Gino would get me thinking of having a half decent bet in the race now.
Could well be a race I will leave Alone.
She’s at this stage potentially an easy winner at long odds on.

If she's potentially an easy winner at long odds on then you probably should be steaming into the 2/1...

I think the only way she doesn't go Champion Hurdle at this point is if she's beaten beforehand. Willies alternatives look very weak at present.

There's related double ways to plays it imo. Her and Wodooh currently. And something feasible against her doubled with her for the Mares NTO.

I really wished I’d played the lossie wodhooh double before they both ran. Just can’t bring myself to do it with the revised prices right now though. As said above, I’m waiting for opportunities should things change.

Agreed, there’s a lot of water to pass under the bridge before March, opportunities will come!

If she wins at xmas, and then at Dublin.
I think we'll know.
And unless there are extenuating circumstances I'd be pretty sure Willie will state the target at that point.

Aye, they'll go champion unless beaten beforehand now I'd be fairly sure.

Problem is , the Mares race !! History tells us to be careful betting on her.
So steaming in at 2/1 ain’t appealing for me.

Unibet hurdle on trials day up next for The New Lion, guess it'll be that then onto the festival.

Further setback for William Munny.

Not the end of the world.

I think Connell can certainly get them ready enough even after a break.

Sometimes I do wonder if these setbacks are actually setbacks or if by design.

Potentially only one run in open company before Cheltenham if he doesn’t pickup another knock. As a backer I’m definitely concerned.

Yep, no positives there. Seems like Lossiemouth just has to turn up now to pick up the Trophy she richly deserves.

Has Sir Gino been cut again because Hendo said he jumped some hurdles this week?

I thought he was 5/1, he’s now 4/1 7/2 with most. Honestly what a fucking shambles, we knew he was going hurdling.

He's going to the Xmas Hurdle.

I’d have thought so if he’s already schooling.

So he’s been cut because he’s going for a race at Xmas?
Yes and that he's clearly going hurdling over chasing this season and likely to be Donnelly's number 1 in the Champion Hurdle and if he's back to his best then he'll be a huge threat .

We already knew that more or less though didn’t we, hence the cut last week to 5/1.

Now he’s jump some hurdles at home he’s been cut. It’s quite embarrassing what bookies are doing these days :ROFLMAO:

That’s a huge IF after basically dying. Wouldn’t be touching him with a barge pole until he’s run, for all I love the horse and was a shame he picked up the infection after having a farely normal cut.
