2026 Champion Hurdle

Don't want to think about the worst case outcome, but if it did happen then Nicky would be shamed as a trainer and bring an awful light to racing that could take years to shift and just add more ammo for the protesters. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a strong contingent of anti-racing brigade there on the day as well. I want to see him back and hurdling fluently but throwing him into a Champion hurdle in the 'hope' that he can recover his hurdling ability, I would be watching the race through my fingers.
 
Supplement it for the Champion Hurdle Paul see what happens lol

He's won that taking the piss out of the field. I don't think it's a terrible idea at all in a average year.

Colm and I have both said we could supplement him for the Champion Hurdle if we wanted to. The great thing about supplementing him is you haven’t got to do that until five or six days beforehand and by then you get a great idea of what the ground will be.

“If the ground was testing we might look at it. If the ground was good we wouldn’t. He would hold his own if the ground was like that. It is an open race this season and if the ground was testing he would want to be in there. I suspect sometime he will go chasing as he will be a smart two mile chaser. That will be his job, and we have always thought that, but let’s worry about that next season.

“Today has always been the target. We were going to put him in the County Hurdle, and a few of those other races, but we might just have a re-think if the ground was right for him. That has put has back into second in the trainers’ championship so we are Dan’s tail now. For what we have got we achieved a lot. We have got a good strike rate and good prizemoney.”
 
So J Scott has declared (potentially one of my big winners of the week) for the kingwell again on Saturday. It was 24 days exactly before the champion hurdle last year and obviously exactly the same no of days again this time around. What we thinking ...we all hoping she goes ?
I remember being on at 30s and 40s last year and watching that race where she struggled to beat a hardened burdett road and harsand. It was tough watch.
I am just debating - it could be good for a price perspective. I would expect it to be a similar tough watch again and price might go out again even with a narrow win. Maybe we want her to lose so we can jump on higher prices again.........
 
haha fair enough , I would imagine only 12 or 14s - i could dream! I mean your prob right he will win on the potential ground.

Hear me out. Interesting how he is not declared for the stayers even though its kind of what hes been looking towards surely ?
Con hill doesnt make it or falls early - maybe could be nico's ride or bowens. Heh as stamina . My queen golden ace doesnt perform. Lion falls again, the others go elsewhere. 150/1 is a bit sick isnt it not ? Please talk me out of it. Poniros/Golden Ace fan club here btw as you may know.
