2025 Champion Chase

"Gaelic Warrior steps back on to the track. He has made people lean in, push back and even fall off their chairs. Two miles it seems is the chosen direction but then plans can and do change.
Leopardstown has not been a particularly happy hunting ground; he scraped home in a handicap hurdle and then blew out spectacularly at the Dublin Racing Festival last season; coincidence perhaps. The addition of a hood certainly helped at Cheltenham. If a horse is more relaxed, then he is less likely to fight you, and if you’re not fighting then they’re more likely to listen to what you’re saying. (I should get Willie a hood for Christmas).

While he is the best horse in the race, if he were to be vulnerable this year, then perhaps it would be this day, taking on horses who have all had a run, on ground that will be very different to his two best performances last year. But I can’t wait to get back on him. He is a beast."

He is the one horse i really want beaten over christmas. I have him covered nicely for the CC but better in the Ryanair and opens up a few more horses for me.

Sounds from that they are almost expecting him to get beat so I don't believe he'll be switched to the Ryanair regardless of the result.

JJ slevin has ridden them to sleep there

Another big win for joseph

Mullins having a shocker today. Solness battered at Sandown by Jonbon and beats Gaelic. Not sure why Patrick had him so far back but the less said of Patrick's riding the better

They knew.......

Willies are running stinkers aren't they.

Having Patrick onboard in grade 1's is also like giving 5lbs+ away

They are. Possibly a bit under the weather. Be interesting to see how the rest of his get on.

I don't back anything with patrick on.

yeah totally

Don't understand it at all even if its the trainers son

Must be frustrating as an owner at times

Gaelic will always be vulnerable left handed

do we know if/when el fabiolo will be fit to run?

Might make a few race options a bit clearer. Found A Fifty jumping right again, might get away with it more at the Ryanair trip. Dinoblue to the mares chase..

It wasn't all resting upon today for Gaelic his day is March. Townend back on. No worries 5/1 topped up

Rich ricci likes him on, won quite a few grade 1s for him. Probably all steering jobs though, Patrick only wins on horses that would win with me on.

I'd be strongly requesting danny was on mine if paul wasn't available if I was an owner.

Yep, would not touch him with a bargepole in the Queen Mother.

Really? I think the prices are about right, but wouldn’t touch him? He posted a 172 RPR when winning over course and distance. That’s equal to Jonbon’s best on any track. Today’s performance was fine for FTO. Correct second fav.

Each to their own, he’s not for me in the big race for the top 2 milers.
Too unreliable left handed for my liking, especially in top company.

I'm not sure about him personally. The arkle was poor and his main rival, quilixios, got screwed over by the starter.

If el fabiolo doesn't come back and find his jumping it's really starting to look like jonbons year.

Think I'd be looking at the ascot chase for gaelic next.

He doesn't need to stay just at 2 miles and that's a right handed grade 1 over what will probably end up his best trip.

another thing to remember is he was a precocious juvenile, how long will he keep improving?

too early to say he's peaked after one run this season but it's something I always have in the back of my mind with the horses who were good juveniles when they hit their 6/7yo season.
