I wasn't sure if we should just have a continuous Antepost thread or one per year.

Seeing as we've had one per year already I have created this one.

For the English classics I have backed the following so far:

2000 Guineas:

City Of Troy
Henry Longfellow

I get the feeling they'll be split if all well next year. Henry possibly goes to the French guineas. Was happy to see Sax liked him also so I had more on.

1000 Guineas:

Ylang Ylang
One Look

Ylang Ylang wasn't great lto but possibly didn't run to her best, I do think she is more an Oaks filly than guineas. One Look ran today (23/09/23) on debut and beat a 101 rated horse on debut by 6 lengths. A possible one off freak performance but had to back her. The concern is she just stays in Ireland for their guineas.

The Oaks:

Ylang Ylang

As mentioned above but seems a tough filly, might not have the toe.

The Derby:

City Of Troy
Henry Longfellow
Diego Velazquez

I normally always cover the top guineas runners for The Derby also. Aidan has mentioned City Of Troy could go for the triple crown. Diego just screams needing to go up in trip on breeding.

Appleby has been poor this season for one reason or another. Possible yard bug or just not a good crop.

Still keeping an eye out for Gosden runners also.

I really really like One Look just hope it wasn't a one off

Was probably revved to the eyeballs for that debut and the owners will most likely be looking to sell

Even if that was the case, still some debut to beat a 101 rated horse by 6 lengths.

Was very impressive

I'd be dubious about the form until seeing it again against better horses

Certainly one to keep an eye on

If you fancy a laugh find a replay of the charity race 5:20 curragh

Absolutely pathetic saw some guy on twitter actually defending the ride because it was a charity race

It is kind of true

the whole race was a farce, most of the "jockeys" goal seemed to be just to not fall off the horse

The majority were given no chance to win

Nobody should be betting on these races and if you are don't be surprised if something strange happens

Should've stopped a long time ago, amateur riders have no place riding in a professional sport

I mean I have no idea if its true but I read the rider of that one given the pathetic ride owns a tipping telegram

Okay im reading the jockey on the fav is the boyfriend of the jockey of the winner (if YouTube can be believed)

And iv watched it a couple of times again and it very very much looks likes he deliberately let her win

You're spot on. Anybody betting on that sort of event deserves to lose. I'm not surprised there's such a social media fuss about it but it's a non event isn't it.

It being a charity race changes everything like. The guy on twitter is right.

Great if you are mates with the boyfriend though.....quids in !:chuncky:

This has to be the worst arc field I've seen

Bit of a reach but I saw a special for dettori to ride the winner of the kentucky derby at 16/1, he'll end up being on a baffert horse most likely and he has a really nice crop of 2 year olds right now, no way will his mount be that price if a few train on, mainly muth and Prince of monaco. Heartland too but hasn't been seen for a while

Ylang Ylang wins the Fillies Mile. Still looks like she needs a step up in trip now.

They might as well pay out on City of Troy for the guineas already, blimey.
