…..I’m a few miles from the course and putting regular updates in the General Chat thread but happy to repeat them here.


Was a wet miserable day yesterday but it’s been a dry and mainly sunny morning so far today (Tuesday). The odd dark cloud but no rain as yet.

I hope the weather changes going into Aintree meeting. Also likewise I live about 15 minutes from thr course I can update also.

Bound to be some bookmakers putting up markets for the number of Grand National finishers. 6/7 if this weather doesn't change over the next week.

Didn’t hear any rain through the night but the ground is saturated and the skies are looking dark and threatening first thing this morning.

Turned on the Liverpool game and it would be fair to say that Liverpool is wet this evening.

Very wet overnight, one downpour at 01.30 was particularly heavy pounding against the windows. Not raining at the moment but a grey morning. I wonder if the Mildmay course will join the National course in having ‘heavy’ in its description.

With all this rain is there a chance the meeting could get abandoned or does Aintree have a good drainage system?

If reports on their website are correct, only 1.6mm fell since midnight so looks like they were OK and escaped the worst of the weather again. That, or the aintree met station is knackered.

I don't think the meeting will be at any risk.

If it went ahead in 2018, then this year's meeting isn't at risk.
