2023 Bumper

Big race in finding Gordon's horse for this on Sunday at navan

Won by envoi allen, sir gerhard and American mike I'm recent seasons

If king of kingsfield is declared I may pull the trigger

Given Gordon has left more to work on with his horses this season I'd be expecting a pretty decent bit of improvement and hopefully that 130+ rpr

He really doesn't have the pedigree of a typical gigginstown horse

He's by a flat sire who won the moulin
his damsire has produced loads of good flat horses and a few good hurdlers
his dam is a half sister to a group 2 winner

This is surely no usual gigginstown future staying chaser

One il be mulling over

He could be the type for Gigginstown to send to the Champion bumper as he doesn’t have a traditional NH pedigree himself. He did win his point though and didn’t look out of place, in terms of size, in his bumper win.

One thing to note though, Vadamos is now part of Coolmores NH roster so he’s not a ‘flat’ sire as such. He’s being sent plenty of NH mares now so in the next couple of years you’ll see plenty of jumpers by him hitting the track.

Who is this Protekking mentioned by Josh Stacey as a Mullins horse in the bumper?

Can't see any info on the databases regarding the horse :/

Yeah, I checked RP and its not on here, might only appear once hes going to get given an entry as that is what happened with facile vega I think, they registered him a few weeks before the leopardstown entry

'Protekting' has been added to the market with Hills, obviously some confusion with the name of the horse:biggrin-new:

What d'you reckon darlojim - could Protekting be the special unnamed one?

Or does Soir De Garde fit the bill - Willie's had him since last year so he should be ready to rock provided he's sound.

State Man II could be some sequel!!

I'm not so sure, might just be as easy waiting for the Leopardstown Xmas bumper entries:onthego:

Is it irrational how much Stacey annoys me? Doesn't seem to have anything useful to offer himself from his own mouth, but obviously gets fed some good info from somewhere. Amazing what you can achieve in life despite the obvious disadvantage of being posh and having a pushy mum that works in Jockey Club marketing.

I’m in the same boat. He’s part of ‘the scene’ and fits the profile of being involved in racing. Gets the inside scoop on a few things but doesn’t know that much himself. Likes to put up horses but can’t even pronounce the names or know anything about the form, especially anything from France. His sidekick is very good though and I can listen to him.

He sells himself as 'in the know' but in reality he's mostly regurgitating things that other people have already said and/or posted elsewhere. Find him very irritating.

He actually ripped off a post I made on Twitter once. I challenged him on it and then he deleted it. Doesn’t like to give credit and passes things off as his own. But I guess he’s only interested in followers and career progression in the industry.

He's done it for years. I was one of less than 10 people watching Tiger school the XC fences last year and he posed a picture of it as if he was there when he definitely wasn't. In danger of hijacking this thread so lets continue on general chat.

Faking or pretending you’ve done or heard something and passing it off as your own experience is one thing. If he’s doing that then he should stop.

But in his defence, surely we all regurgitate and/or process information.
You don’t wake up with knowledge you have to read and watch and listen and experience stuff.
And he can’t help being posh.

Yes, he irritates me - but mainly for his hair and slow delivery. That might be my youtube speed setting though. :stupid:
I picture you all with good haircuts, so it keeps me calm (er).
Lobos - how's the afro ?

But good luck to Josh and anyone trying to do what he’s done.

Had a good chuckle at can’t help being poshQuevega

I do like Andrew he has a way about him when delivering a John McConnell donkey to win the AB , it would convince anyone it’s a good thing

Would love an Affro. Bit thinner and greyer these days but still got plenty. Thanks for the genes dad

No Better days ahead or King of Kingsfield in the Future Champions at Navan - Jamie rides Caldwell Potter. Cato Capone and Special Cadeau other notables.

Is it 3 bumper runs or 4 that you're allowed before running in the Champion Bumper? That would be the third for Caldwell Potter. I assume they have decided against a hurdles campaign in that case... would usually be a blind bet sort of entry that.
