2022 Ryanair Chase

I see all the talk with Frodon is the King George at Christmas but does anyone know what their plans are for the festival? Some talk on the horse coming back over for the DRF in February. Does that mean they have discounted Cheltenham this year? I don't see Frodon in any lists.

Great horse Frodon but he's another one who can't stay the GC trip and isn't good enough to beat Allaho, perfect example of a horse who should be campaigned elsewhere even if it does grate some people, there just isn't a March race he can win...

spot on from Istabraq, and goodness me they have had some great days away from the Cheltenham festival ,

Thanks both. I'll disregard him, so. I cannot help but think he'd give Allaho a run for his money, if he did show, or could they both go tearing off and setting it up for Envoi Allen? Some horse though.

Frodon couldn't go the early pace set by min when he won

Min got completely blown away by the pace allaho set

If allaho is in the same form frodon simply wouldnt be able to go the gallop

….thought it interesting Nicholls said “this was his Gold Cup” after the race yesterday. I think Frodon was fully tuned up for this one.

Nicholls doing what is best for his owners, and collecting good prizemoney at the same time. If he can't compete with the Cheltenham Irish battalions in March, he as sure as hell can pop over the Irish sea with one fully tuned up, never mind cleaning up across the UK, as he did back in April at Punchestown with Clan Des Obeaux.

Yday was the first time Envoi set the clock in line with his rating for me, very very impressive with plenty left to give seemingly. ?? as ever with stamina but big effort and worth the rating given !

Nicholls is a master for getting them in peak condition first time out

expect Frodon to run really well in the KG, but he’ll be on my ‘do not touch’ list until april

A nice mention in mullins stable tour for The big getaway which has flown under the radar a bit. It was a short quote but basically just confirmed he's gotten over his setback and is fit and well, so ive taken the 50/1 for this race and 66/1 for the gold cup both with cashout.

I think its easy to forget how impressive he looked on his second chase start last xmas and he was looking like mullins no.1 dart for the marsh at the time, I think the prices for the two races ive mentioned are well worth a punt.

Agree completely riccirich
He was one of my first bets for this in March !

He was disappointing last season before being ruled out through injury. I think Ryanair would suit his big galloping style like Allaho but his jumping needs to have improved.

I’ve got no horses covered in this race yet after what Allaho did last year. He mullered the field and most of them are involved in the betting again this year. My only considerations this year would be the Skelton horses Shan Blue and Allmankind who may be able to keep tabs on a horse like Allaho

Personally I wouldnt agree at all that he was disappointing. First time out he was well beaten but that was probably lack of fitness as much as anything as he's such a big horse, and plenty of willies were well beat first time out and came on a lot for the run.

Second time out at leopardstown I thought his jumping was faultless and he won easy as you like from cedarwood road, who is a decent yardstick.

Imo i'd be very surprised if he doesnt have the beating of allmankind and shan blue at the very least.

My gut tells me that hitman is going to be a horse to follow this season as he is still only 5 and will surely improve

Certainly expect him to win today

Doubt he would beat an allaho or envoi but he doesnt have far to go to be better than the rest in the market for this

One I'm going to be keeping an eye on for this and the Melling chase at Aintree

I don't think there's any excuse for Hitman there to be honest. Think he's a bit soft in a finish, regardless of the trip. Ran out of it from the back of the last again despite jumping nice and cruising into it.

He was quite keen probably more of a 2 miler

Certainly have question marks about him now

Yeah he got done fair and square there, no excuses.
