Talking to an Irish Trainer today. Sees a change in attitude from the UK handicappers. Thinks they will go to town on the Irish horses next year.
Meade in handicaps :cower:
Wide receiver drifting like a barge pole at Punchestown today. Many including myself got a bit carried away with him for last years MP. Is he just a bit of a rag or is Gordon lining up the coral cup (or the MP) for him this year?
Owner said he'd be a likely NR due to the ground unless it rained....possibly to do with that.

In addition to what Jack said, the RP quote indicates that they may go chasing after this so he's almost certainly not there to win I'd say
I know its way too early to be thinking about Cheltenham Handicaps but I thought the entry by Gordon Elliott in the Pertemps qualifier of Tullybeg could be pretty interesting. Same connections as The Bosses Oscar and is currently on a run. He's got an Irish mark currently of 136

It's never too early to be thinking about handicaps!
Even though he's favourite for tomorrow surely they won't be trying to win with him. A nice 3rd place being hard held will be just what they want.
One thing I hate about Pertemps races is that, you cant bet on them other than the final as half the trainers want to just place in the qualifiers
I find that can sometimes help narrow the field as usually you can rule out anyone mid 130s plus as trying hard to win and focus on those who need a win to jump the ratings
