2017 Arkle Trophy Chase

OK thanks for that.
I had control of the TV last night for 7 hours NFL, so tonight it's Emmerdale Farm, Coronation St and that shite, any suggestion of a switch to ATR could be costly...

Mobdro on a cheap android tablet is the answer ;)

Just played the unders in that weather, sold points and shirts, had a great weekend.
More entertaining round next week, I'd like to get with Pitts and GB with the points.
I'll be suicidal when this season ends, can't tell you how much I've won since Sept.

Have you been betting on it a long time Ista? I've only got into it in the last few years but very rarely put any money down.

I bet more NFL than any sport.
Used to hit cricket quite hard but got shut down with the high st but NFL has been my sport for about 20 years.
It was easier a few years ago but now it;s so popular over here bookies have got professional trading teams now, was a time they would update once a day so when big injury news filtered through the bookies hadn't amended, the 90s were a great time to bet NFL.
You ever wanna chat just shout, love the sport

You shouldn't have said that, I might start picking your brains! :encouragement:

Totally agree Kevloaf

Altior looks the real deal, defy anyone to point out any negatives
Still 5/4 in places, some firms odds on
Absolute banker,max stake
And you will collect early on the first day

Looks like PP are taking note too, cut to 8/11?!

Humble pie time for me? Ricci quotes below on Min ....

"He was electric and I have rarely seen Ruby so animated on the run in. While we were beaten in the Supreme last year I think he had to race and battle for arguably his first time, and as we know suffered a season ending injury mid race. He has demonstrated a tractability and intelligence over fences that I don’t think we saw last season and has really grown up. Touch wood, he will probably go to Leopardstown again for the Frank Ward Arkle before Cheltenham and another battle with Altior who looks exceptional and is a deceptively big horse who really fills the eye – it’s easy to see why they went chasing with him. We have a bit to find with him but they both look better chasers than hurdlers and we are looking forward to taking him on again.”

Arkle a certainty and the first comments directly saying he was injured in the race .... I'll hold my hands up .... however, do I BELIEVE what I'm hearing haha

Remember the late Vautour (RIP) had been stated as "Gold Cup or nothing" so let's see what happens on the Morning Line this year!

Im going to sound like a broken record a little, but just thought id share this with you. I was listening to the Racehour podcast on Soundcloud, produced by Betbright (the company that Rich Ricci is the Executive Chairman of and who as we know owns Min) and Noel Hayes who is the Director of Sportsbook was commenting on Min and his Supreme run "Min got injured in the race and I think Min has had his wind done as well".
The plot thickens!!!!
(if you want to listen its from 25 mins onwards in this weeks podcast, ill try and post a link and see if it works)

I listened to this weeks Podcast this afternoon at work Billy - a decent listen. I really like Noel Hayes and used to enjoy what he had to say on the Final Furlong Podcast, back in the day.

He makes valid points and as he says one bad jump might swing it in Min's favour, but all things being equal, I find it hard to see how he can turn the tables on Altior.

I think it is Yeehaa. It'll be another small field Arkle at a guess.

Yorkhill's price has crashed in the betting in recent days, probably ahead of his run this weekend, but I'd say he's heading for the JLT unless an injury to Min happens.

Identity Thief shouldn't be ruled out yet... if he slams Min in the Irish Arkle then what happens in this market? Altior goes odds on? IT goes 2nd fav? Min drifts?

Loads of possibilities but if Min does beat IT it DOES look a two horse race.

No chance Ruby will give up the ride on Min or Altior as he has no viable alternatives in the Arkle or JLT so only injury can change those targets in my ever so humble opinion

Yorkhill is 12s with Paddy Power - they clearly think he is going to JLT

Others

Buveur Dair - doesnt jump well enough ?
Le Prezien - not good enough
Cloudy Dream
Some Plan

...it is a two horse race imo

Buveur D'air surely goes JLT too and I think he can beat Yorkhill

Is there?

Nicky said he'd go for the Scilly Isles at Sandown in February, which is run over 2.5 miles
