2016 Ryanair

But now knowing Annie power should be fine come the festival they still had a chance to run her over fences to get her spot on for the ryan air, when you look at the world hurdle Vroum Vroum mag even with her weight allowance she has about another 7 - 10lb to find with thistlecrack and also prove herself at the trip which I understand is the objective of the team this weekend at ascot, but still at this moment in time i see her better placed in the ryan air, but hey who am i to doubt willie...!!
 
Thats what ive been saying all along...If UDS dosent run in QM then I can see Vautour slotting in as a replacement but there will be no Vautour in this race if UDS runs and thats a certainty for me.

Welcome BJK, that's been mentioned before, not too sure what sort of training regime has been laid out for SDC, well beaten in the Lexus and looked a shadow of the horse that ran well in the Gold cup a couple of seasons back, I don't think I'd be backing him for anything at the fez unless he had another run and looked a lot brighter

I don't think SDC has the pace for the Ryanair. He was known for a stayer and would have lost speed while not getting younger.
 
I thought Sir Des showed some toe in Thurles which I had not expected. Might have bounced last time.

Nicholas mentioned vibrato v for this 33s with bet bright is value.

At a preview evening 2 years ago Davy Russell said Valseur Lido was the best horse he'd ever say on and was a certainty to win Gold Cups, his Punchestown festival win last season suggests he has the ability to do that but he has been hit and miss.
If he lands here he's a runner definitely.

My old mate/nemesis Champagne Fever could also be aimed at this and at Cheltenham he cannot be discounted.

Though I think that will be reconsidered if they decide to throw Vatour in the Champion Chase, unlikely of course but should Champagne Fever get fit they have a dilemma in that Ricci rarely runs 2 of his against against each other and even rarer in championship races...

With the runners that are currently in the betting for this more than likely not intended to run in this race it really is making it a great market for those which should turn up, I've probably said it before in this thread but I really cant get away from Al Ferof at 12/1, I think it's great value, his run two races ago over this sort of distance was right up there with his best ratings and followed it up with a sound 3rd in the king george behind two of those at the head of the gold cup market and one place ahead of smad place who essentially the bookies are making the 7/1 favourite with the absence of Vautour... He's probably my e/w bet of the festival
 
On form you can make a case for Al Ferof who threatened to be an exceptional horse 3 or 4 years ago, however, I fee the biggest barrier he faces is his 11 years. The last grade one winner aged 11 was Moscow Flyer, before that was Crimson Embers (stayers hurdle) in 1986, as a relatively new race trends are still evolving but I'd be surprised if any 11 year old could win a race of this stature, somewhere in the line up is an unexposed 7 or 8 year old who hasn't transferred his best form from yard to course yet, sadly at this point I can't give you the name of that horse lol

Champagne a West and Sound investment spring to mind - both available at 20s and sure to be shorter if the big guns in the market don't show up ?
 
Sound investment is already one i have looked at closely after putting up some top peformances this season under big top weights, however with one more run due before the festival i just hope he hasn't cried enough already this season, if not he does look a very backable horse for this especially at the odds, Champagne west is probably the most likely improver having the least runs over fences in the field with just 5 but has shown good form last time out, trip looks right and clearly the horse like Cheltenham

top stats Ista. He is a Dom alco too so generally need further as they get older ?
