2016 Neptune Novices.

To me - Im guessing Min is rated the best novice in the mullins yard hes going supreme. Which makes me think having Mullins confirm Bellshill for the neptune already he would be the next best.

Im hoping that way anyway as a i have a nice 5 fold of min/douvan/annie/bellshill/limini at odds of 2268-1 so if the first 4 won i would be in a great position to lay Limini to guarantee a good return!

I have taken Shantou Village as cover but nowhere near the odds of above. What do we think about this race?

I've got Shantou village in this and also have
an ante post ticket on Yanworth for the Supreme, so hoping Shantou romps home this weekend so connections go for this & make Yanworth connections think they should stick to 2 miles - fingers crossed !

So who will Fehily ride in the Neptune race if he's not on SV today:confused:

Surely Fehily would be having a prep run on SV if he was heavily fancied for this race. Is this a sign SV will be going to the potato race and Charmix for Neptune?

Looks like SV will run in the AB, which is a much weaker race based on today's trials.

I'm not sure SV really enjoyed the ground today but even so it takes believing that he will turn things round with Yanworth.

Yanworth looks a bit special to me.

All of a sudden JP's novice hand doesn't look quite so weak

SV now blue across the board for the AB, so looks like he is going there. He will be a different horse on good and with Fehily back on board.

Yanworths performance was very impressive but shouldn't he be beating shantou village and champers on ice like that? They both want 3m in my opinion. Yanworth vs bellshill looks a good battle

I wonder if WPM might just have a rethink now. Yorkhill Neptune and Bellshill for the AB wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

I think the AB looks the obvious race for SV now and i'd take him to beat Barters Hill on decent ground.

Yanworth looked great today but I've already loaded up on bellshill and the value has now gone about having a saver on yanworth, hope willies horses turn it back round after today, weird for him to have so many reverses, maybe they did not travel to well, liming still cantered up staying at home

Barters Hill is a horse that will never impress because he'll never get there on the bridle and scoot effortlessly 10l clear, he's a relentless galloper and is a real old fashioned fighter for me, in his races plenty of horses have come to him and not gone past.
Yanworth couldn't have been more impressive today and the pair are rightly strong favs for their intended races, in fact if that had been a Min or Douvan the media would be purring and the bookies would have reacted more aggressively.

looked very very good yesterday but jinked three out and still a little green. Grraghty said afterwards Bellshill and Tombstone were two horses he feared.

Is Tombstone still an intended runner in the Supreme?

I was delighted with YANWORTH at Cheltenham on Saturday, with his win in the Grade 2 Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle. He was every bit as good as I had hoped he would be.

He was a little bit novicey at one or two of his hurdles, but I had him covered up early on and, once he got a little bit more light, he was better. Yanworth was very good over the second last and last flights, and that was important, when the pace was quickening.

I was happy at every stage of the race. He took me into the race lovely and, once he jumped the last well, I knew that it would take a very good one to catch me.

I was aware of Ruby on Shantou Village, I was aware of where he was through the race but, to be honest, once I was happy with my fellow, that was the main thing.

The trip obviously wasn’t an issue for Yanworth. It was his first run over two and a half miles and, although he has the pace for two miles, he saw out the trip really well, he bounded away up the hill.

And he handled the soft ground well, but better ground might even suit him better over two and a half miles.

I didn’t ask Yanworth for anything really, a squeeze was all he got, so he probably had more left, and the winning time was good. He’s still a bit immature too. It would be great to think that he could improve again for that.

He’s exciting, and it was interesting to hear Alan King say afterwards that he could be as good a horse as he has had. That’s some statement, Alan had a great day on Saturday and he has trained lots of top-class horses.

Yanworth a very good horse but I think was slightly flattered in that SV would have hated the ground on Sat and theres always a doubt for me with these bridle horses when it comes to the acid test at the festival.Take nothing away from a visually taking performance on Sat but perhaps the jumping could have been slicker with a view to taking on Bellshill in Neptune.I'm in that Bellshill camp but will hold my hands up if Yanworth can do to him what he did on Sat.
