2016 Arkle Trophy Novices Chase

I'm a massive KV fan and think he could win the RSA and even a 4 miler, I am keen to take fancy prices about this one for the 2017 Gold Cup

Have you had any prices quoted for the 2017 GC?

No not yet FM.
Sadly I no longer have accounts and have to wait for betfair to price up, you can e-mail them and they'll add the horse to the market I just haven't done it yet.

How would you price him FM ?

I think it's very difficult to price up but I'd be getting interested at 40/1 and above. The way ante post is these days I don't think anyone would go above 25/1 though unfortunately. I'll make a few enquires.

I would have played 33s but the market is so scared of Mullins that if I made the call I'd be shocked if I was quoted anything better than 16s.
With so many arrows to throw in this years Gold Cup, plus Coneygree returning, plus the fact there's 14 months to go before the race he should be 50s.
Let me know if you find any 66s lol

Paddy Power have offered 33/1 - good luck in getting more than £10 on with them though ;)

My last dealings with Paddy Power were when I was refused a £25 e/w bet on a 16/1 in the Cambridgeshire a couple of years ago, that weekend they had a website failure and offered everyone a free £50 bet, I tried to place this free bet on every sporting event only to receive the message 'the maximum you can have on this event is £0.00, several discussions with customer services and a certain level of abuse and we agreed we'd end our association.
I'll pass on the 33s and snap up the 7/4 when he wins this years King George lol

Did we ever find out where those £300 e/w @ 50/1 Min bets were struck ????????

I'm guessing they were with Bet365.

I was at a wedding in the summer and a friend of mine told me to back it at 50/1 for the Supreme as he'd heard a whisper from Ireland. I didn't have a phone signal, then drank too much rum and didn't remember about it until I was going through the ante post lists a few days later - by which time it was into 25/1. Being the stubborn sod that I am, I refused to back a horse on hearsay at 25/1, when I could of got 50/1 a week earlier.

I know he's got it at 50/1 in a single and also in doubles and trebles with Douvan and Faugheen

I don't doubt people snapped up the 50s but I'd love to know how they got a decent bet on, if they're used to having reasonable bets why have they not been closed down before now ?

I can't believe anyone got a £600 bet on Min at 50/1, unless they are losers long-term and those bet sizes are their usual bets.

Most people would struggle to get £200 on a 3/1!

Unless you bet with a Star Sports type bookie (where you'll never get market price) you'll never get a decent bet on.
Corals made a massive marketing campaign out of laying any horse, after 11am, on live TV races, to lose £2k, every Corals shop I've been in since I've said to the manager this should be standard, and every bet over £100 they still have to phone through for approval.
Todays bookies are a joke, sadly there are very few small independents left where relationships count...

Game Changer goes straight there according to quotes in RP. Arzal waiting for Aintree.

Of Mullins possibles Douvan doing evertyhing right. Shaneshill will be over further. KV could run in any novice chase.

Hendersons Vaniteux straight to fez now. Lami Serge to Warwick.

If you can find a definite runner in without douvan market might collect on each way if they complete.

Only if 365 where nrnb I would be taking the 6's on Ar Mad betting without. I can't see him being out of the places if he handles left handed.

Was introduced to the lovely Camilla Henderson at Chelt last Sat, when I asked if L'ami Serge was Arkle bound she said 'probably', if he goes there he is a certainty to place and for me could get close to Douvan

Ista name dropping ;)

Geraghty said on get on last Friday that he thought both Lami Serge and vaniteux would be better chasers than hurdlers and could give Douvan something to think about.

Yeah, apologies for that, we were talking for all of 15 seconds lol

:D

She threw a bit of a strop on twitter last year about not being her fathers press secretary or something. The @SevenBarrows twitter account will answer a few questions though.

Remember Khyber Kim ?
Wasn't he runner up in a champion hurdle ?
She rode him to a PTP win a couple of weeks ago, I thought the horse was about 15 now
