Would be a nice follow up from the Derby for which he's now in to 9/2.

Apart from being a fine specimen, CR is able to go in behind a fast pace, move into contention with little effort and then put 7 lengths between himself and the rest of the field in the closing stages. He is bred to stay the extra trip in the Derby. BC is more of a dour stayer and RPRs have him...

Definitely Constitution River but there has to be a chance that he'll go to the French Derby.

Judging by what Constitution River did, I think we can say that the ground was fine and that Haggas is a good judge of horses to avoid.

    Bookmakers Special Offers:

I'm open to correction but I think it's more than 75 years since the double of the returning Champion Hurdler and Gold Cup winner came up and that was several years before the Champion Chase was even in the calendar. Fun bets for small odds I suppose but still....

As you say, game of opinions but my view would be that, on his run around the course before racing, Patrick would have assessed how watering had affected the ground across the width of the track and decided that the best ground for an unraced 4yo was towards the outer. He did, after all, ride...

He was on the second best horse in the race and he finished second. It's a 4yo bumper and the filly is likely bought to be a chaser.

I'm with Isty on this. KdM's best RPR over 2 miles is 141 and he was given 158 for the Stayers. The ORs for 2 miles and 3 miles have a similar difference. Add to this that the BANC is on the slightly easier Old Course and I've certainly no interest in him for the Arkle at this stage.

    2027 The Prices on Offer

To be fair, the Jewson was only inaugurated (as a grade 2) in 2011 and only became a grade 1 in 2014. Open to correction but I don't see much evidence of Baring Bingham (Turners) winners going to the Arkle before 2011. King Rasko Grey is a nice horse and his style of running may suit an Arkle...

    2027 The Prices on Offer

Yes, when he has the ammunition, his aim is fairly true. As for King Rasko Grey, I can't recall a Turners winner going on to win the Arkle although, of course, until recently the intermediate trip novice chase would have been a more natural progression.

Old Park Star ratings compared to King Rasko Grey. OR +5 RPR +8 Timeform +6 and a p All subjective, of course, but feeds into the price difference. It's interesting about how people read close finishes. Some are downgrading the Supreme form because of the close finish yet the King George had...

Henderson has said that Old Park Star looks a chaser and his record with Supreme winners (and placed horses like Sprinter Sacre) going to the Arkle is not too shabby. Timeform ratings: [TABLE style='color: rgb(100, 100, 100);font-family: "Source Sans Pro", sans-serif;background-color...

BDA achieved a higher RPR at Cheltenham than Wodhooh and is likely to be better over the Mares trip. It's unknown whether or not she'd prefer the New Course to the Old Course. If they're all fit and if they decided to keep her over hurdles and if they decide that they can't beat Lossiemouth in...

Like most on here, I've never ridden in a race but I'm fairly sure that the adrenaline would have been running high in both horse and jockey. From my limited interaction with him, I'd say that it's highly unlikely that PT would have ridden a finish if he thought that the horse was seriously...

Grand National meeting & US Masters Double 2026

Get a grip, man. Rated 145 today, he beat a 137 horse by 7 lengths. The handicapper will probably give him a few pounds but he'll still be low to middle 150s who will be a 10yo next Cheltenham. Coral Gold Cup and Grand National will be the limit of their ambition next season. That said, it was...

For what it's worth, the vibes we get are that it would be unlikely that Wendigo will go right-handed again at the top level. The Coral Gold Cup is seen as a possible target next season but he will only run tomorrow if the ground is considered suitable, ie not too quick, after a course walk.

For those who like the Ultima form, it's worth noting that Iroko scoped dirty after the race and that Greenall (or the other G) has said he prefers his chance to that of Jagwar. I think that I Am Maximus is almost certain to place again but my shortlist will comprise 3 from the Bobbyjo...
