Very possible. Beat N Has who a few fancy for the Churdle and beat Selma at Aintree who is a massive Mares fancy. She brings the Irish form somewhat. Brilliant matchup this early on.

The New Lion...

Skelton spent the summer considering a step up in trip for The New Lion, but he will start on the Champion Hurdle route.

"I have never ever not said that he is still, on form, the best two-miler in the UK," he said. "Maybe we need to just explore that before we go up in trip."

A return to the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle will depend on the ground. "I could not believe how fast they were going," Skelton said of last year's race. "If he was to go, then it'd have to be slow ground."

Generally still a 20/1 shot

I've got TNL at 33s for the stayers. He's going to have to get put in his place over 2 mile to run in that race, and given the lack of champion hurdle candidates, that looks unlikely.

If he gets beat again over 2 then he can always go Relkeel/Cleeve and then Stayers. No bother.

It's difficult to see who will beat him in the UK. Hopefully they travel for the Hattons Grace.
 
I’d be looking at what JP already has for a Stayers tilt first, and of course JPs chequebook is never closed so his string could look different in 3 months…

Aye, hopefully TNL gets beaten and they convince JP to go Stayers. I've got some nice slips that don't look so nice anymore.

Skeltons recent comments on his champion hurdle possibles hint strongly that the New Lion is galloping all over Mydaddypaddy at home
