2027 The Prices on Offer

Two fallers fell in front of him in separate incidents so ignore that run , he opened 40’s for Welsh national last week and is now 14’s , I’d fancy him to run a big race in that and yea he would need to go up a few pounds to get in the big one , he’s no very quick but he will stay all day
Are they considering the Hennessy (coral gold cup) ?

…a ‘win today & GN might be tasty’.

A couple of big chunks put up to back on Betfair today - £489 wanting to back Kabral Du Mathan for the Arkle at 10.5 and £437 wanting to back Lulamba for the Ryanair at 7.8. For this stage of the season these are large amounts for the Exchange these days (nothing else above £50 and most £10 or lower).

Noticed a big shift in firms refusing to offer prices on request for Cheltenham this season. First you have to deal with AI then you get a message stating traders aren’t accepting any price requests. Never had an issue getting a horse added to markets before. Can’t even get much added to the Betfair exchange either unless they’re already quoted by paddy power.

Noticed this myself. Gave up trying tbh

I tried it last year without success but I nonchalantly read something on hills website recently about them not doing price requests any more if it's them you have been trying with.

Been knocked back by hills, lads, paddy’s and Betfair exchange. All the chat has gone to ai, the traders or firms themselves don’t seem interested anymore. Don’t get the issue with Betfair as long as the horse is eligible to run. Going to make it even harder if we can’t get horses added to markets prior to running.

The rot has set in with racing. I keep seeing millions being spent on horses by the main players but the money must be surely starting to dry up in other areas...... And it's all being caused by bookies restricting and closing punters accounts. The jovial cat and mouse game between bookies and punters is well and truly over. You win and you are banned.

'Anybody with a week's wages they want to put into my shiny new machine? I will stand behind my counter and watch you frantically trying to get you food money back, hitting the buttons with more and more vigour and seeing the despair in your face until your last tenner goes in. I won't ask you if you are ok and if you can afford it because I already know you can't but affordability doesn't work that way, not my problem, you should have stopped'

I'm still surprised the big owners are still investing large sums. I guess with the Arabs it's effectively limitless but surely the others must be having second thoughts?

I was staggered at the amounts spent on the flat horses at the sales this year. It's a closed shop for anyone wanting to compete. Why would anyone want to get involved when the best you can hope for is a Friday night Class 5/6 at Wolves/Dundalk. I love it when horses like Gordon Lord Byron pop up from time to time and shove it to them

It’s just a dick measuring exercise now for the big hitters.

Honestly think we’re in the final stages of the sport now. Governments don’t want the bookies, the bookies don’t want the punters apart from casino button bashers, the punters are sick of all the crap related to betting …closed accounts/restrictions/intrusion into your finances/generally being treated like second class citizens. Theres no way the next generation get into racing with what we have to tolerate nowadays. It’s in our blood but it won’t be in theirs, they’ll just find a different hobby.

….pop this in here as well as I know some were impressed;

Sinnatara 25-1 (Ark) in their ‘Road to Cheltenham’ specials.
