2026 Ultima Handicap

Talking about cliff horses.....


Jagwar most likely to run in Ultima (off top weight 12 stone ?) before a potential shot at GN. He'll keep the weights down a bit.

You'd think they'd have a good look at what turns up in the Ryanair. Could be in the competition for prize money there!

Yep. He said on preview night if both F2F and Gaelic go GC then he'll go Ryanair.
He gave him as his Nap of the meeting wherever he turns up. Gordon was in same preview along with Robbie Power and both said they'd be shocked if F2F didn't go GC.
 
If F2F & Gaelic went GC then the ryanair could be really interesting,as long as Panic Attack doesnt get diverted to it from the mares though, thatd be a pisser for thr ap book.

It won't happen though. There's not a chance Willie will let it go for both of them. It's a bit of a piss take he's got Ricci sat there and basically letting JP make the decision for him on where Gaelic Warrior goes but that's the reality of it. One of them will end up here, and win. And it's completely up to JP's lot to decide which one.

Can only hope owners think there’s only one Gold cup, and who cares if the Ryanair is shit!!
Be nice if both races were more interesting though.

Listening to the owner the other day, sounds like they are set on Mares Chase. Easier race to set then up for the GN.

He could be an interesting one. We were going to run him at Ascot last weekend but the ground was going to be too soft. He hasn’t won for us yet but his two runs have been very good and we’re thinking about the Ultima.

The more I think about In D'Or the more I like him, the form really stacks up. How many horses won over fences for Maxwell in non-amateur races? Think Cat Tiger in 2022 was the last one, and Ecu de la Noverie in 2019 before that. And he did it twice! 6th in that red hot NHC too.

Paired with El Cairos for the 90/1 Maxwell Dispersal Sale double on the Tuesday 😮‍💨

I imagine if they take up that entry he wouldn't be coming here less than 2 weeks later.

No Iroko at Kelso this weekend. Could be injured but that price on him for the Ultima won’t last the day if so and he’s being rerouted.
 
Lets hope it's not a supplement fest.

Maybe but Jagwar is the biggest horse they’ve ever had in the yard apparently so I can’t imagine they’re concerned about the weight. He did switcharoo last year late on too into the plate, only a possibility but I’ve covered it anyway with free bets
