Think this is one we can split from the Novice Hurdle thread at this stage in the season.

Current betting;
Bambino 2-1
Oldschool Outlaw 8-1
Place de La Nation 14-1
Mange Tout 14-1
Echoing Silence 14-1

Entries are due 10th Feb.

@Bayoffreedom might suggest Chosen Comrade 66/1 is added to the list....

Solerina today will be interesting for this.

Place De La Nation trying to give 4lb to Oldschool Outlaw, who beat Bambino Fever LTO.

Surprised there's no win today and festival options.

I was thinking exactly the same!

I’ve backed echoing silence for this, think she’s going under the radar because of the top 2 in the market imo.

HBD will have her primed for Cheltenham as he does every season with his yard. Not much form in behind but switch from diesel was 4th in the Lawlors, granted beat 15 lengths.

….given the trends of the DRF Mares Handicap Hurdle, interesting that @Saxon Warrior got Dameauscottlestown added to this market. No idea of plans but certainly one to keep an eye on at decs stage.

….Oldschool WTAF 9-1 PP.

Have taken the 9/1 as cover for bambino

….P Mullins;

And for Mullins himself there was success in England this week – aboard the promising Diamond Du Berlais at Ludlow.

“I was delighted with her. She had some pretty high class form in France, she has a mark of 132, but was still a maiden, which is why we were keen to buy her. She'd been running in Graded races around Auteuil and running well," he continued.

“She's not overly big and I think better ground will see her in a better light too. We'll probably go for the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham with her, come back down in trip. I think she’s going to be pretty versatile on that front. I’d have no problem going up in trip to three miles either, she settles and jumps so efficiently.

“So we'll go to Cheltenham, but I think the owners are keen to have a trip to Far Hills later on in the year, there’s a mares’ race out there that Gordon (Elliott) won last year with Emily Love so we'll plot our way towards there afterwards."

Was there any feedback for her last run, was a little disappointed personally
The ground was awful, and that run can be ignored. We also should have let her jump on and make use of her jumping instead of taking her back and disappointing her, particularly after Amen Kate unseated at the start. Sam (Ewing), who chose to ride her over Amen Kate, was annoyed with himself for not kicking on. Peter (Fahey) had been concerned that she would pull too hard, given her tendency to do so in her home work. However, she has been nothing but professional on the track, so that was probably a case of overthinking. We're all in this together so no blame attached to anyone, and the good news is that no one has lost any confidence.
She (Chosen Comrade) will be entered tomorrow for the Mares novice and, if it ever dries up, she could surprise a few people.

3 of Willies not in the MNH entries

La Valserine
Larinka

….Mullins re Bambino Fever;

The Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle is her target. We know she jumps, we know she stays the trip, we know she goes on the ground, and we know she handles the track. We have a lot of positives going there and I’d be hoping she’ll be back to herself by then.

The last sentence is interesting. Her performances this season leave a few questions. For example, the time/furlong of her most recent run was slower than both the 2m hurdle and, disconcertingly, the 3m h'cap hurdle on the same card. It was actually almost 0.5 seconds/furlong slower than the latter, which converts to about 2.5 lengths per furlong. I am not a time guy (despite the above), but, in conjunction with Willie's comments, it just makes you wonder.

Yeah there was a lot of talk at the time about how she had come forward from her debut, but she beat cornelienne the same distance as when both were behind oldschool outlaw.

So if she did come on a lot, then cornelienne must have too. Or both of them just ran the same sort of race as when bambino was considered disappointing on seasonal debut.
