Summary

Race Distance - 2 miles and abt half a furlong. Going 21 yrs. Either won last time or beaten in at least a 10k hurdle. Ratings 125 to 139. Won't help that much. Ran in the previous 34 days or in a Graded race or has only run in France. May have competed against older horses last time out. Not a filly. Not a conditional/amateur rider unless already had a winner today. Winning in headgear not in vogue. Irish trained very much so. Horse wearing a hood respected but unlikely winner. Last run not in a handicap. The rare penalised runners have punched above their numbers. Trifecta Perm due covering the front four in the market though has become a little more punter friendly recently. Not BF last time. Paul Nicholls and G Elliott target this. If any trainer/jockey has had a winner already today, back their runners. W Mullins, Venetia Williams or Philip Hobbs yet to shine. Winner never ran here before. Check Naas Feb 8th, the 16k euro rated 4 yr old hurdle.

So who are the ones to watch from the 4yo race at Naas tomorrow? Surely if Highland Crystal wins under a penalty then he goes Triumph. Interesting that Genealogy put up by a couple of tipsters is a GB bred horse who are 0/68 in last 16 years. JO'B has won this twice of late so could his brother DO'B get in on the act with Kilmeaden? He is a standout on RPRs with his win last time and with a 4lb penalty here he is another that could go Triumph. His current RPR puts him joint 7th with Proactif so the Grade 1 has to be a strong possibility. The two of interest therefore have to be Munsif and Saratoga. The fact Munsif on the back of a maiden 3rd is thrown in with Proactif and Macho Man and was still only 9/2 for that suggests they regard the horse a fair bit. Saratoga has been a bit of an eyecatcher in a couple of maidens though does look as though he needs to brush up his hurdling. He is closely matched with Kilmeaden on flat form and did eventually win on the flat once handicapping after three runs in maidens. Could be something similar here.

Iv backed munsif

Perfect race to hide a horse is one with two well regarded horses in it. Nobody bats an eyelid if you are well beaten then.

Like him too. Nothing between him and saratoga on the flat but should a nice pull in the weights with him come march, also Gordon mentioned fred winter for highland C where i presume she'll get the 7lbs allowance ,which she didnt get yesterday, so not sure how saratoga can reverse that form.

I don't think Saratoga was trying any harder than Munsif yesterday. Plenty more to come from both.

Fred Winter is a handicap so no weight allowance, just what is allotted by the handicapper.

I can see Saratoga going off real short for this now! Kind of price I'll have to be against him at.

Id suggest the application of money may enable the reversal of that form from the ones in behind

Should be of no interest to anyone at his current price. Boodles is a complete minefield, with about 15 you could make a good case for every year.

He's fave because of same connections and closely related to Brazil, which is a good reason to be interested in him, but he's never been a good price imo. Complete guess whether he's actually as good as Brazil or whether he'll be as well handicapped.

Similar reasons as to why regents stroll and murcia are currently short prices for the jack richards and county, because the same connections won them last year. If you changed they're silks they'd be double figure prices.

This is a race where you should never be backing anything at single figures

Pick 2 or 3 of the 20 plot horses for small stakes at 14/1 minimum and watch for fun

…..PP pushed Genealogy out to 40-1 NRNB after defeat yesterday, he’s a best price 16-1 elsewhere.

Unibet pushed munsif out to 33s for a short while post race as well. Worth having all your accounts logged in during and after those sorts of races for such opportunities.

If entered Matiwo might ruffle a few feathers here, nice education at Chepstow, kept a little wide to get a look at them then once off the bridle was slotted in amongst horses to get used to a bit of rubbing/bumping once racing, stayed on well that day when given more daylight which bodes well for cheltenham, came here nto for a look, got no further than the fifth, just took off a bit early, made no mistake at newbury last time out going from the front, wasn't really asked too much in front so the opening mark of 119 might be exploitable, whether its here or not I don't know, but Jane doesn't waste entry money so if given the go ahead I'll be having an investment.

I do like Chesters horse as well Tenter Le Tout, he confirmed this is the target recently, wasn't knocked about over CD when finishing 6th, could see her improving on that run.

Minella Yoga

Secret Force
That makes up the 5 I'm focused on until the entries stage then I'll have a better look at a few others.

I thought Munsif was given a Fred Winter ride, eased when not winning, worth remembering he is a 93 rated flat horse so plenty of talent there.
I've taken the 16/1 NRNB....

From Gordon's stable tour: "We have a few in mind for the Fred Winter, with not only Highland Crystal and Mange Tout, but also Combs, Wackestone, Hardy Stuff, Lynches Knock and Barbizon in the mix at the moment."

Is it known why they didn't get marks from the Naas race on Saturday?
Don't think they'll automatically rate them in Ireland unless entered into a handicap, or requested.

From memory they may do a bunch of juveniles together at some stage before the festival weights are decided.
