Cheltenham 2019 Ante-Post bets

I'd have no reason to.

Should be no concerns at all. If he’s good enough then he’ll line up. My take on the comment would be that he may be a chaser for the following season rather than another year over hurdles.

Adjali is being aimed at triumph, not sure he will run before xmas

I’m never too worried about that as plenty of late comers have won the Triumph before and there are plenty of races after Xmas to get experience (although he already had more experience than most from his time in France).

Did he mention style de vole? By any chance.

Style De Vole
Style De Gardes year younge half brother, he's one our French advisers were mad about as he won his flat maiden incredibly impressively. He could easily make a high class juvenile hurdler

What did he say about Verdana Blue please (wondering if he is going to run her in the Greatwood) cheers

Verdana Blue
The Elite Hurdle was always the plan and I was praying all week that they wouldn't get the rain as the faster the better for her. It did rain but thankfully the ground was still decent and she was great. We'll try and keep her going but she's very ground dependent. She's in the Greatwood next weekend at Cheltenham and we could take a look at that if the ground is not too soft. She'll end up going for the Champion Hurdle in the spring if the ground allows but after that I wouldn't mind switching her back to the flat as she's not slow.

What does Nicky say on Rather Be Jackie?

A bumper winner who did well over hurdles, the ran the race of his life to be a head second in the Novice handicap chase at the Festival and we can look at grown up handicaps now. The plan is the BetVictor Gold Cup on Saturday.

Nice one, thanks! :encouragement:

bit annoyed with myself for not backing him yesterday, the others that had been backed clearly not as well handicapped, now he's half the price.

Didn't fancy starting a thread for the Close Brothers just yet, but interesting comments from Nicky today (when discussing Rather Be):

“His run at Cheltenham was very good, that race (Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap) is a real conundrum, you’ve got to have three runs, you can’t go over 145 but if you’re 140 you run the risk of not getting in."

“I’ve got three horses that are on that rating now, so I’ve got to hold them there between now and next March."

Sooo... brownie points on offer for anyone who can identify the Henderson novice chasers he's talking about! They can be first on the shortlist for this race.

Any comments in the stable tour that would help us out JackieMoon?

No grand annual thread yet but they're already running chesterfield in a very competative race on ground he really dosent act on. Needs 1 more run for a mark.

This confirms two things for me, from an AP betting perspective this race is an absolute non runner, and that the festival organisers need to look at the conditions of the race as Hendo has, very eloquently, hit the nail on the head...

Lough Derg Spirit and Diesse des Bieffes would be two that spring to mind?

Wenyerreadyfreddie - rated 145
when asked if he'll run at cheltenham this weekend - He's on 145 and I'd like to leave him there. So cheltenham not best place to run him (obviously against other good novices, so may ruin mark)
needs one more run so I'd imagine he won't be winning that, or at least not against anything rated high enough to affect his rating
