August Festival Yankee

Well the thing is with only two days of August to go, he’s the only horse that has had a few people agree on as our fourth horse.

The first three were agreed by a majority quite early this month but there’s been a few shouts for the fourth horse but not one that more than a couple of people have agreed on.

Samcro does have four possible targets - but it’s now looking like this will be most likely. The 8/1 won’t be that price in a week if he is sent hurdling. It’s a risk. But it’s a calculated risk as the four targets instantly becomes one target. If it was the three way round and it looked as though he would be chasing, them having him for any of the three chases in this would be madness imo.

But not for the Champion Hurdle route surely? Most people agree that the comments suggest he’s going to be taking on Buveur in March.

Well there’s no way on earth I would throw money at a horse with so many targets. The champ hurdle makes it worse

Fair enough. I’m not sure anyone is forced to do the Yankee.

It’s a minority v majority situation for each horse.

It just so happens that (so far) Samcro is a majority horse for this yankee. If you disagree so much with samcro, don’t do the yankeee would be my suggestion.


There’s horses I disagree with on these Yankees but I do it anyway just in case we win big.

It is more like 2 targets though in this case isn't it.

Yes sorry I was being pedantic. I thought that was obvious.

MoM is right though, you don't have to back these yankee's. I swapped a horse in one of them but it is only a bit of fun.

IUn my opinion if one of these yankee's ends up being one of my best bets I'll have been doing plenty wrong!
 
I have not looked at the breeding of Samcro and as not back in the uk till 8th sept will not be. But if someone would like to is Samcro breed for being a gold cup horse or even a chaser?
I’m now off out for dinner will catch up in the morning
 
You just have to look at him to know he's built for fences He's sired by Germany out of an unraced mare. Germany's progeny include Faugheen and Captain Cee Bee.

Faugheen is an exceptional horse and would have won a Gold Cup if given the chance imo. Samcro looks to be blessed with the same attributes.

Just put something else in your Yankee Somer. I would if I strongly disagreed with a selection.
 
I thought that Basically , If it's a gigginstown horse . Then it's a Chaser , or chaser in the making.
 
...and the fact he's been Point To Pointing points towards chasing.

He is like Faugheen in that he's just super-talented.
 
From what they’re saying, they’ll be quite happy trying to win the CH (and hoovering up serious prize money for Elliott), then go chasing.

He is completely like Faugheen and I agree with the original point that Faugheen would’ve (could he still? Surely not!) won a Gold Cup.

We have a couple of bets tied into Samcro JLT, it can’t hurt to tie another into the CH IMO.

I'm fine with that , But would like to see Bacardys - n.h.chs go into one while it's still 33-1., maybe septembers .

Ditto. Maybe a good jumping off point for next month’s.

If we could hammer down an aim for Champagne Classic as well, I’d love to get him in sometime soon.
