Not a great price that last one, but a winner is always nice.
Mark Johnston has Kalagia in the first at Brighton, SDS jocked up and now around 100/30, more than double that was available last night.

Gambles all over the place today, so sticking with the familiar, SDS has half a dozen rides at Haydock today, and four have been well backed, so I've done a yankee on those.
They are; Sea Youmzain 2.10, Fosun 2.50, Calder Prince 4.35, Last Page 5.10, this last one is probably the best backed so would be the one I'd be inclined to single out.
Aquarium in the last has seen some money too, SDS again for Mark Johnston, 12's from 16, won't be anywhere near that if he's on a 5 timer I wouldn't have thought.

One for today in the last at Notts, Hope is high, SDS again riding for John Berry this time. 6/1 available when first priced up, 2/1 now, looks like a really fancied runner from a stable that likes to land a touch. SDS rides one for Simon Crisford earlier on the card, already odds on that one though, was around 13/8 early last night, too short now for me, could well win though.

Hugh Taylor has given Hope is High as a 2pt bet today advised at 3/1 which probably accounts for the continued support...

Mr M

Did you pick up on Make Music last night at Ling ?
Won at 3s and I'm sure 365 opened him at 12/1 the previous evening....

Could be right Kev, was twice that last night though, so looks like Hugh is following the gamble too

I didn't see it isty, there were so many gambles on yesterday I gave up and followed the SDS 4, something of a let down after the first one. They did come for Gracious John though, 22's into 14's in the 5 mins before the off, was doing his best work at the end too, and finished in the money, so could be worth following over further.

Jeannot de Nonant runs in the 3.15 at Worcester, I backed it when priced up yesterday at 3/1, I thought it should be favourite. Only just noticed the money has come and is now 2/1, second fav at the mo but I would think a big run is expected, P Bowen/S Bowen, not giving too much weight.
The same combo have Dotties dilemma in the last, this one has also been backed, 7's last night 4's now.

Alsvinder . - pontefract 9-10 .
from 13-2 into 10-3 now ,. apparently .better on the all weather.

Sean Bowen had 3 rides for his dad yesterday, I mentioned 2, both had seen money, they finished 3rd and 2nd, the only one I didn't mention was Mac Tottie, the only one that drifted was Mac Tottie, the only one that won was Mac Tottie, great.
Champarisi in the last at Thirsk has come in from 9's to 4's, Grant Tuer trains with Paul Hanagan on board.
Also, another P Bowen/S Bowen combo, Alf'n'Dor, has seen a little support in the 6.40 at Southwell, looks a solid ew, only 7 runners though, it's still possible to get paid on the first 3 with 365's ew extra offer, albeit at a reduced price.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, spotted the gamble first thing on Phoenix star, in from 33's last night to 12's this morning. Got tied up on a job, lost track of time, long story short didn't post because I put it off, sorry guys, would have been nice after a few let downs.

Moving on, Nottingham 1.40, Autumn Splendour already in from 12's to 100/30, James Tate/ Danny Tudhope, connections seem keen to get their dosh down.

Another placed runner, getting silly now, try for something with an ew shout today. The Great Wall runs in the 3.30 at York, Mick Appleby/SDS, halved in price to 13/2 and paying 4 places, right at the foot of the weights, looks like a big run is expected.

Mr M - have you never considered the 20/80 approach ?

2nd again, well beaten though, a neck, so best part of a foot then, what can you say. 20/80 would have given a small profit isty, assuming it means what I think it means.

Yes, sorry Mr M, been offline for a while.
20/80 is more for place players who don't benefit if their selection wins, so many place pros have 20% of their stake on the win and 80% on the place.
The horses you highlight are often nice prices so the place can pay, though how easy it is for you to get on (place) before the price completely collapses is hard to say...

Carvelas was 5/1 last night and is into 3's now, I backed it last night, thought it looked big at the price. SDS again, this time for John Jenkins, a few of his other rides have come in for support, could have a good day today.

Interesting thought isty, I do sometimes back place only, but can't say I've ever split it as you point out, will look at that though because some of the ones that move early do so from huge prices. Would provide more profit on a number of the ones I put on here too, if you back a 3/1 shot, use the split you suggest, you would have your money returned via the place, even at a fifth odds, anything bigger than 3's would be profitable, most of the horses highlighted here are that and bigger. Also worth looking at is the ew extra that 365 offer, lower prices but sometimes paying 6 places with 10 runners.

Another placed on Saturday, que sera.
Tomorrow at Nottingham SDS has Ravenous for L Dace, been supported early, may be nothing but could be a gamble starting. The man has gone off the boil a bit since the start of the season, but other yards have taken time to get going, decent ew price this at the mo though, and purely my opinion, but I regard SDS as the best around that rides regularly in the UK.
