Cross Country Chase 2018

I was in the 'CoC can't win the 2017 XC' camp. *Shudders*:sorrow:

Me too :sorrow: Now i'm in the CoC can't lose the 2018 XC camp :triumphant:

Well not can't. Just won't.

At least this time I admit Tiger Roll can win - :devilish:

Or do I?

Gordon clearly hasn't seen the weather forecast.

Lots of snow to come this week. Plenty of rain the week after being forecast. Don’t think they’d run COC in to soft/heavy ground! They’d tuck him away for the National! Another worry

Of your twelve posts... this is one I dislike.

:highly_amused:

Seriously though, not a worry this far out.... ground is 1/5 to be good to soft for a reason

I live 10 mile from the course and as a bricklayer! We’ve got to have this week off for the weather! Never had that happen this time of year before! Maybe my nerves getting the better of me haha! Where did you get odds for the going conditions?

Hoping all well when the meeting comes round. Who are you on in the cross country just for interest?

Remember they can't easily irrigate the cross country course so it usually stays drier/quicker than the course proper, so even if there was sufficient rain to make ground soft it would almost certainly be good to soft on XC

That is an excellent point that I've never even considered.

Lisa O'Neill says Tiger Roll has one lots of schooling and has taken to it like a duck to water...

"Is it difficult to split them in the yard"

I suppose it is, Cause of Causes has been there and done that, but I definitely have to stay loyal to Tiger Roll on this one

I fancy him and included in my E/W milti selection 4,5,6 folds with COC .I am committed to COC in this for my exotics though.I just hope that he might not take to the course as well as COC has proven to do. I imagine that he might make a few jumping errors as in the 4M nov. Ch when his class still saw him win . It wasn't a great round of jumping that day.

And I'd imagine a lot less Raced on than the rest of the course ?

I bet you were on " The giant bolster " in the 2014 Gold cup M.T.R ?:highly_amused:

A couple of interesting ones for this.

Cocktails at Dawn is entered and is now with Gordon Elliott. I can't see him in the betting though

Saint Are is also entered here, most probably as a prep for Aintree

A lot of guys seem to be on Tiger Roll here
Who do you think will get the ride ?
Hoping for Davy Russell myself
Does anyone know who has been schooling him ?

I'd imagine it'll be Davy but would be happy if Jack Kennedy got the ride too.

No problem with Jack Kennedy, top jockey
However, don't remember him riding in these type of races before, maybe wrong
Davy has ridden and won this race for gigginstown before
There is a possibility that Keith Donoghue will get the ride, has ridden him the last twice
