Cheltenham Gold Cup 2018

Mullins said in better words that
He's most likely missing the chelt festival to go for the 2 1/2 at Aintree.

He had a speculative entry in the Gold Cup didn't he. Ryanair looks his race... should be allowed to take on his stablemate

Probably is allowed but they might see it as a pointless task. He's on a break now.
Likely straight to Aintree. Unless the ryanair cut right up.

Thanks.

I haven't been excited by Un De Sceaux for a long time now but he is in the same ownership so very unlikely they would take each other on.

Was it an enforced lay off for Bachasson? It is unlike Mullins to give them such a long break.

I presume nobody's heard anything on my old favourite, Empire Of Dirt? It would be quite a performance to win even an ordinary Gold Cup on seasonal debut.

Well, no secret but Our Duke winning today would be a superb result for some of my very early ante-post multiples! :highly_amused:

Not confident but very excited!

I don't want Mala Beach, Alpha Des Obeaux, Edwulf, Valsuer Lido to win as I haven't got any of them for the Gold Cup, the others I have

Infact, I'll add Valsuer Lido 50/1 NRNB now.... don't think the others have a chance

I want Our Duke to win this though, come on the Duke!!!!

Oh. Well that didn't go to plan haha

Looked a bad fall for KV. Hope all is okay

Just hope Killultagh Vic got up OK, couldn't care about the result tbh!

Looked bad for KV, didn’t see him get back up

It took a year for Killultagh Vic to recover from his last fall, hope he ok as I think he is one of the best horses around..

I really do not think them running him in a hurdle race then straight in to this kind of race was fair, a softer chase would have been better for the horse..

That is good news..... looked like being the winner didn't he!

Not confident on Our Duke now obviously.... doesn't quite jump quickly/well enough but after a race ending error he's plugged on well enough.

Not disheartened but obviously hard to be anything other than hopeful... unfortuantely.

What do we make of Our Duke's performance, seemed to be dropping back when not pushed, but was happy to race when given the hurry up by Robbie Power.

Potentially lazy? Seemed to jump better when rousted in to fences.

3 out I thought he was going to win. Betfair have pushed him out to 16/1 and I think that is possibly a slight overreaction.

I backed when they over reacted after his debut at 25/1 so I can't go in again.... you can certainly still make a case for him, but it isn't a smashing one, unfortunately.

I was heavy on Might Bite for the KG but kind of didnt fancy him for this but a lot challengers seem to be falling away

With the fantastic news that KV got up and walked back seemingly none the worse in the end, is he worth a punt at 12/1 NRNB?

Could say he was going to win the race, but he didn't but made all the right impressions prior to that fall. Fairytale stuff (a bit like Edwulf today) should he turn up at the festival and win the GC.
