National Hunt Chase (4 miler) 2018

I don't think you would run him in the rsa on his last run. Would make more sense elegant escape rsa to me. And sizing Tennessee ultima handicap chase. But iv tried second guessing tizzard before this season

Yep Tizzard is putting me off backing him, guess I could do nrnb for the Ultima as well..

Elegant escape entered up at wetherby on Saturday in 3 mile grade 2 novice chase

Same race Native River took in before the 4 Miler :encouragement:
(finished 3rd behind Blaklion who won the RSA and Definitely Red who ran but fell i the 4 miler)

Looks winnable though. If native river ran close would he have gone 4 miler.

Yeah I said a while back that although EE has followed the exact same path as Native River, if NR had of won either at Kempton on Boxing Day or this Wetherby race then that may have changed targets so taking in the same races so far isn't foolproof...

Hoping Ballyoptic comes back to form and we get a repeat of the Exeter result from earlier in the season if i'm honest

Was looking at the market for this race earlier. Huge difference of opinion with the bookies. EE as low as 11/4 with PP and 11/2 with Hills.

Was quite tempted by the 7/1 Terrefort myself... he was very impressive on his UK debut and will be tough to concede weight to, in my opinion. But not seen any concrete quotes he will definitely be running in this or the Scilly Isles.

Have a feeling EE will run the perfect trial for the four miler myself.

Is Tizzard now more likely to want to win any race he can, rather than "go for glory". Finian's Oscar to the Arkle, EE to the RSA, Cue Card for the Gold Cup..... all will now run in less prestigious but more winnable races?

Maybe his form is a blessing is disguise for EE?

Looking for a bit of value in this
Does anyone think bonbon au miel has a chance here ?
Lightly raced,won well last time
Mullins said he will step up in trip
Needs to improve a bit but could do,still some good prices to be had

So having completely dismissed No Comment in this race having not run this season, he's a really interesting entry in the Scilly Isles Chase at Sandown this weekend and Hobbs says he will run. Could be very telling that they are happy to send him straight into a Grade 1 on his novice chase debut, against a good looking field. Not entered up in either the RSA or JLT but he did get the entry for this race.

He could very well look to target a handicap at the festival, which is probably the most likely option, especially based on his campaigning last year but If he did line up here, i'd be very confident that Derek O'Connor would be riding as per the last few years for the JP runners and this being his only entry. I'd be surprised if they got another run into him before the festival so having 1 run as prep, in any race let alone this race would generally put me off a horse but...

A good run at the weekend or a shock win would have to take handicaps out of the equation and send him this race, with O'Connor onboard and then 25/1 NRNB would be long gone. A poor show or an 'easy Geraghty ride' would mean handicaps and you'll be getting your money back.

Very much like the risk to reward angle jono.
Personally think it is unlikely but this being the only entry HAS to be noteworthy?

P.s. FM - How much do you miss Robin Roe when No Comment is getting pitched in at G1 level?

I still haven't forgiven Harry Skelton for what happened to Robin Roe. :sorrow:

No Comment is a horse I like and agree with Jono's post above

I also like no comment. He’s 25/1 with hills any race which offers an alternative angle

Are Hills the only bookie doing the win any race option?

They are now I think. Paddy were doing it but think they got rid of that market when they went nrnb. Don’t think hills will add any more horses to their win any race market now, their book for that doesn’t seem to have moved other than the odd price for a couple of months
