Ballymore (Previously Neptune) Novice Hurdle 2018

Ridiculous price for what he's done so far. Which isn't much more than what he'd do in a schooling hurdle. Very impressive i get it the way he travells and the ease of which he goes about his business. Would have more in the tank than what he shows ..... But he has beat trees up to now. All be it very very easily. And done everything he's been asked to do.

Price is ridiculous, but not because of what he's beat, Just because of how far out we still are. He could still end up in the Supreme or AB which I'm sure would absolutely destroy a few people ante post books on here. As I said previously regarding him, I couldn't care what he's beat, because he's not been asked for any effort either, so if he's beating them that easy it's all irrelevant, after all, it's not his fault nothing has been able to go with him yet.

As I said a few weeks ago about Fayonagh, you have to factor in a price to actually get to Cheltenham and a price to run in the race that you select. You also have to factor in the good horses that we haven't yet seen.
Frankly, anyone taking 2/1 about a single race over 3 months in advance should not be allowed out unsupervised. Wait for NRNB and/or special offers on raceday.

Especially in novice events.
As you rightly say, every chance the horse is 4/5 when the NRNB concession hits but on the day boosts will probably allow you to get a price not a million miles from his current price.

You can't guarantee he won't do similar in the Ballymore. Are you old enough to remember Monsignor win the Ballymore? I'd say Samcro could do something just as impressive.

I thought I might be in the minority with the price, I might even be on my own :devilish:. I'm interested what prices you would all consider backing him at.

I'm not tempted in the slightest at that price.
I have put 5 pts on Samcro ANY RACE when he was at 10/1 and my position will remain unchanged until NRNB come in.

The Any Race market (especially with WH) has given me much greater peace of mind with many of the novices.
As long as they make it to the Festival..... Fingers crossed!

I probably won't now until NRNB comes in to play, seem to have him plenty covered already, so much so that if he somehow doesn't make it, what with the Annamix news earlier this week I might as well not bother contributing to the forum anymore :very_drunk: :highly_amused:

I can guarantee it because he'd have to be rated well into the 160s over hurdles to do that.

And that's an impossibility? I'm not so sure.

I don't want to go too deep into this but if he wins the neptune in the same fashion he won his last novice I will be wearing a dress to watch him in his novice chase at the festival the year after

I am a male. And just offering such as the confidence I know that he won't win in the same manner. Ill take that bet with anyone under the same condition that if if the cap fits wins they'll do the same :highly_amused:

I'll donate £100 to the injured jockeys fund if If The Cap Fits beats Samcro at Cheltenham.

It was bad enough wearing a dress on my stag do, so theres bloody no chance I'm going through that again for a bet :highly_amused:

You genuinely think samcro could win by 12 lengths? Cos id be happy to take that bet.

I'd rather make the donation too lol.

I think he'll win very well but 12 lengths will be tough, not impossible though. Monsignor won by 8 lengths and I didn't think I'd see a performance like that again.

Think the price now stinks only because you can’t be that sure he’ll make it to the festival. As soon as they go NRNB you’d think he still might be a shade of odds against so that will be the safest bet. The way he travels and quickens effortlessly reminds me of Faugheen, having the same sire is further encouragement. If he gets to this race safe and sound at this stage I’d have him winning it by 5 lengths, complete speculation though that is

Of course he can win but atleast one of the following horses will be a 155 horse. And multiple over 150. That's the real test. Stating the obvious he won't beat this lot like he did against far lesser horses. Of course I want him to win but I atleast want to see the opposition and to see him out in a race where we don't already know the result beforehand.

The only reason I'm not backing still is because I already have enough returned in singles at the moment.

I know I'll be on again with NRNB unless the bubble had been burst ...BUT I will include him in multiples at this price currently probably.

I don't remember the previous winner you mention FM, but hope one day I talk about Samcro the same way ...

You'd be mad thigh to have a huge single on now for the reasons said, target isn't certain despite being likely and he might step on that proverbial stone

I am in the 'terrible price' camp for Samcro. Can barely believe it to be honest.

I genuinely believe Mengli Khan has been at least as impressive, against better horses and he is 12/1. I wasn't interested at 5/1 before his last run, and might now be tempted if he were still that price. But definitely nothing shorter.

Unfortunately he never ran again.

Strangely reminds me of Samcro just looking at him! Looks like the Malcolm Denmark colours there? Owner of Next Destination who looked hugely impressive on his hurdles debut this season.
