The highest rated hurdler who may go chasing next year is BDA…..even without the mares allowance
However connections have mentioned chasing as part of the plan for the last two seasons, yet have followed the hurdling route.
She appears to have maintained her form better this season and had a relatively successful season over hurdles so maybe the foundation is laid for chasing next year? She most certainly appears to have the build for a chaser.
Prices for the Arkle last year were 20/1 as many, including the bookmakers, felt that she would be better suited to the Mares Chase……which I never understood as she had delivered her highest rated performances over 2m and has done so again this season. Her price may have also included her supposed dislike for Cheltenham, which has maybe been laid to rest now?
She is currently 33/1 for the Arkle, which will be long gone when and if they announce chasing for next year…and if they target 2m.
Lots of IF’s but at 33/1 overpriced IMO
