2017 Grand National

LR, by min return = £1,400. Do you mean no matter which horse won the National you'd have got back £1,400 or the min winnings of the ones you'd backed?
Either way £1,200 in bets seems a ballsy move for such an unpredictable race.

Correct Brital. My min return was £1400 with a £1200 investment over 31/40 runners, that investment also included x3 nr's.

I would have lost if Blaklion won, but I kinda guessed he would get outstayed.

I'm tempted to push the button on Minella Rocco 25/1 for 2018.

Whats the odds on him running?

You'll get 25/1 still in October.

Your national approach sounds similar to my Cheltenham approach :highly_amused:

In contract, the national is one race I am prepared to lose on without too much thought about it. I see it as a bit of a novelty like the rest of the nation does that day... Made more on Yanworth the race before than I spent on the race, and I had 12 covered :highly_amused: - I thought I have a brilliant voucher on Yanworth at 7/2 from a week earlier, when he was 6/4 the night before... was 7/2 about 30 mins before the race haha

If he was mine I'd be aiming MR at the Gold Cup.
Just run out of his skin to finish second eating up ground on the run in, and his prep wasn't ideal having hit the deck twice this season.
Who do we think targets the race with a realistic chance ? MR has to be on the shortlist, there's no other festival target for the horse which as we know is half the battle won...

Surely Native River will head for the Grand National next season.

Niggling doubt they might have a go for the Gold Cup again... what is the gap next year? With the race plan he is likely to take in he'll surely be top weight?

The Grand National is run on the 14th next years so they'll be 29 days between races

A few more to take in the Gold Cup this time around then with it being 29 days?

Don Poli?!

I think that Native River will go gold cup ., maybe a lighter schedule to keep him fresh ,? ., would have thought that the
welsh national took a fair bit out of him this year, although he absolutely hosed up in that !.
