2026 Novice Hurdlers

Good news again, no casualties.

Thinking about another couple of additions for the County, one would like it dry, the other soft. Already have the one good ground option.

If he wants a win that's the right race, but it's Nicholls. Been here before and he much prefers getting beat in the Turners.
He did say that Albert could come into reckoning. Ground could be a concern on Wednesday.

If they think it's too quick on Tuesday they'll be watering on Tuesday evening to get some soft into the going for Wednesday, the danger days are Tuesday & Friday for quicker going imo.

Still no decision re TTT.

Same price here and Turners.

Continued support today for Sober (Turners)

Since 2005, 31 runners began their careers on the Flat. All beaten

Paul will be on King Rasko as per @runwhich ultimately relegates Sober to at least second string, if not third!

Who's backing him though????

Apart from me.....😂

Cobden looking for a spare perhaps...

From 1990-2005 there were 6 winners who started on the flat. Of the 31 since 2005 I can only find 5 who had a single figure sp and 3 of these were placed and it would in all likelihood had been 4 had Cotton Mill not unseated 2 out. The rest were mostly rags (7 had 3 figure SPs!).

I just think that the lack of winners from the flat sphere in recent years is more a reflection of the fact that the most suitable flat horses are retained for the flat / sold abroad where the prize money is greater. Labaik has won the Supreme and Penhill has won the Albert Bartlett in this period (and horses like Poniros and Vauban have won the Triumph) so its not impossible. I am not a fan of Sober btw but the fact that he started on the flat would not put me off if I was.
