….i think it’s still registered as The Fred Winter so I suppose that’s pretty much the case.

All races are registered by an official name, it's just sponsors that insist on having their name front and centre when signing deals and causing us punters ongoing confusion....

So i stayed out of the saratoga situation completely. I watched at 8/1 before the race and knew exactly what was about to unfold before the race - much like most of X did . Then watched it hit 5/1. I am actually on Yoga for this and i really fancy Selma for either race. I keep thinking wow Saratoga is to short, but the more I look the more I think its still good. I have watched the race again on large screen in HD this morning and it appears on good ground that mark could potentially win by 10 lengths with a few more serious hits with a bit more open course. The ride was so clever, the final tap he gave also i felt was 2 seconds delayed because he just wanted to see if Jack would defo pass him on the near side, there has to be heaps up the sleeve there! heaps!

If he ends up 130 or lower he's going to have a great chance. Even at low 130's he'll be there or thereabouts I believe.

They'll have to rate Highland Crystal near 140 for him to be low 130's though. She'll be better off going to the Triumph with that rating.

Just pressed the button on Dignam with Hills 20s NRNB (can boost to 22s)

3 summer runs under his belt before taking in the Cambaceres on drastically different ground. I'd say he didn't enjoy that and will be much more to his liking back on Spring ground. Like to think he'll be rated ~130 and I'd say that's fair enough. He's had nice bit of experience round a sharp track like Cartmel in and amongst few horses so should suit a fast run Boodles.

BHA performance figures of 123,129 and 131 so I'd expect the 131 to be his rating.
 
Manlaga declared for her third run on Saturday. I've taken 20/1 NRNB.

Arrived with a big reputation as we all know. Gave 5lb and race fitness to a horse now 3/3 over hurdles, yet beaten only a length on soft ground. 20+ lengths back to the third and a horse in fourth who had finished much closer to Minella Study and Highland Crystal previously.

I know fillies don't have a great record in this, but Murcia ran pretty well off a big weight last year rated 136. Manlaga is rated 127, so she should have a more manageable weight if going here without troubling the handicapper on the weekend.

Currently 6/4 fav for Saturday, but I just can't help but feel she could be rather eye-catching in defeat and shorten right up for this. And if she runs/wins too well, she probably ends up in the Triumph instead. Worth a go I reckon.

I get the thinking and it does look an obvious play, but Hendo hasn't had a runner in the race since 2020 when Palladium was pulled up, is this a race that he 'targets', does he know what it takes to win here ?
Clearly a master with Supreme and Triumph horses but they're obviously G1s, it usually takes a trainer skilled at deception to win a Fred Winter, is Hendo that man ?

She's jp owned though, so that lot will have more say in the campaign than a usual Henderson owner you'd think. Trainer might have no interest in the race himself, but if jp wants her there then that's where she'd go.

Similar to when I backed dinoblue in the grand annual. Any other owner and Willie probably would have skipped Cheltenham.

She might just win and go triumph or aintree though.

Doubt it, she was getting 4lb from a 121 rated juvenile on his fifth start.
Beat him 2/3 lengths.
Doubt she goes near a triumph and will probably run in the fred winter off a mark of about 130 (pound or two either way)
