2026 Jack Richards Novice Limited Handicap Chase

Given an RPR of 151. He has a best of RPR 156 and Official Rating of 155 over hurdles so imagine he would be rated low 150s. Agree it is likely he will be held back for Aintree again.
Depends on the levels of confidence in kopek you'd think. As good as the horse is and assuming he's schooling well and doing everything right at home, it'd still be hard to be totally confident in a horse running in the arkle after one trot around in a beginners months earlier. They might decide to run a few back ups.

Would be no harm tactically either, if kopek is the faster horse than lulamba and gets first run on him, and lulamaba gets a little outpaced for a moment when they quicken, it might be a good idea to make sure he has to navigate as much traffic as possible when coming with his run.

I’d think that was a crazy run last time if they had a handicap in mind so if he goes it would be arkle. Theres been talk of Aintree I think . I seem to remember the entitled one saying he doesn’t like undulations which is quite ironic considering where he last won. Think the entitled one just can t deal with the fact that horses run away with him on a regular basis and needs to find something to blame.
Cheers rb,nice to see you back

Potentially. Though considering it would be the owner 2nd string and yard 4th string (Assuming Kopek, Kargese and Kappa all run) it would be a surprise. Could go Flyingbolt assuming he has come out of this race well. Mullins has won it 3 times in the last 4 years including Champ Kiely who was considered for Cheltenham having been 3rd in the Ballymore 2 years before having missed a season.

Was going to ask about him in the Nov chasers thread as I would be interested if he went Arkle, although obviously owner has Lulamba.
You think he might come here?

I think it’s more likely he misses the festival than come here, but looking at other options etc. he’s rated 156 over hurdles but his chase form wouldn’t entitle him to be within 10lbs of that, not that the handicapper works like that.

Wonder if theyd consider getting a 3rd run into kappa jy pyke to run in this

Probably his best trip at the minute is two-and-a-half miles with him wanting three miles in time, so in an ideal world, and if I could make a wish, it would be soft ground and I would probably line him up in the handicap.

Did anyone hear what was mentioned by Pauling on Nick Luck r.e Meetmebythesea? Sounds unpromising according to Twitter but his stable tour does mention him for this

Most trainers with a JP handicap horse will be keeping non commital right now until they get the nod that they are intended runners.
That's normally after weights announced. Except for the odd one where it's the obvious race.

Yeah but apparently he mentioned he might not go Chelt because he was disappointed with his run. I think some trainers are so thick. He's having his 3rd run over fences against experienced graded chasers over 2m on heavy ground. What else did he expect ffs? Literally only ran him to qualify

Thought it was funny The Wallpark never even got a mention in the Elliott Stable tour, but thats exactly why I'd say

I'm hoping that with the extra publicity being generated in some quarters, the BHA handicapper might grow a pair and add a JP tax.

He's just given Iroko 2lb of collateral so won't be popular in the JP camp right now, cue the upcoming sweetener...

Jimmy Du Seuil pulled from the Brown Advisory, possibility he ends up here?

Would be very interesting to see what mark they give him, his jumping has been poor at times and he seems like he doesn’t want to be there.

But he’s also beaten the Big Westerner 4 lengths (would rate him at 154 now) and sliced up the Coral last year off 146 giving weight and a beating to now 159 rated Impose Toi. Be a brave handicapper to put him around the 150 mark
