2026 Champion Chase

Love the Sir Gino entry.
Like proper trolling that one :ROFLMAO:

Ahead of the Christmas period I've had a sneaky e/w fiver on The Jukebox Man for this at 40/1. Probably wasting my money (but it was placed using a free bet voucher ;)) but my reasoning is that his jumping is so good and he does have the tactical speed to get involved in a QMCC. I got into racing watching the great Desert Orchid win a Whitbread at Sandown over 3m 5f and then go back 8 months later to win a Tingle Creek and I do just wonder whether The Jukebox Man might prosper more at shorter trips with his hugely accurate jumping and high cruising speed. If he doesn't win the King George tomorrow (and the staying chase division is ultra-competitive) I think they might have to reconsider Gold Cup plans and, although the Ryanair might be their natural reaction, I think he could be very competitive in the QMCC. For reasons already discussed on this thread, we don't really have a standout horse at the top of the 2 mile chase championship market and maybe that is a void that The Jukebox Man can fill.
That's my free tenner down the drain (although I did get some 20s on Jango Baie for the Gold Cup on the same day so its not all bad news). I also backed The Jukebox Man to win the King George :)

KDB gets an entry then😂

Kalif looked like broken leg then

Didn't deserve that, they never do though, thats two today, hard days racing.
Thoughts with connections & those who mind these horses at home.

Unfortunately it was actually three at kempton. Second race, there was also a fatality 😢

Any thoughts on who Willie might send over to Clarence House?
Il etait temps? Perhaps energumene?

Il Etait Temps looks set to try and continue his recent dominance over Jonbon in Saturday’s BetMGM Clarence House Chase at Ascot.

The latter has been one of the best two-mile chasers in recent seasons and won this race last term for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville.

However, he has twice come up short against Willie Mullins’ grey in his last two starts, the bet365 Celebration Chase at Sandown in the spring and the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase back at the Esher track in December.

The thriving Thistle Ask will looks to continue his rise through the ranks for the Skelton team on Saturday, with Gidleigh Park and JPR One completing the field.

That's Jonbon in the Ryanair then and saves me a bet on Thistle Ask. Beautiful.

Just need a reasonable WTAF on IET now for the Treble

Good, keep IET going right handed so he can make the market in the Champion Chase!

Just think he's a hugely improved horse the last 2 years. Smashing everything out of the way with ease including when going LH at Aintree. HE could be the value horse you and everyone else are passing over.

Maybe. To me he beat Grey Dawning and Ginnys Destiny who were feeling the effects of their battle at Cheltenham a month before. Prior to that he beat a very right handed Found A Fifty by a neck at Leopardstown. I am sure he has improved, but that improvement has also come on right handed tracks. Last time at Sandown he took the shortest route and kept to the right, whereas Jonbon and L'Eau Du Sud were edging left. If he had gone to the DRF he could of dispelled my theory, but as he isn't then he will be a favourite I will be against at Cheltenham.

Couldn’t agree more, Marine is the one being under estimated imo, he’s being added to any double, trebles etc at the minute.

Two time festival winner with only IET and potentially Quilixous to beat (who’s been on the sidelines). Majborough if putting in a good round but his ran last time was terrible. Not sure anything else will have the class, including Thistle Ask.

Yeah, I bagged 20/1 on Marine at the end of last season in a WTAF so in a good position. Quilixios still interests me. I have Solness covered now as he has the ability if getting an uncontested lead and fast ground. The only other that interests currently is L'Eau Du Sud. Hard to forget his win in the Shloer so his run in the Tingle Creek was respectable going right handed just a couple of weeks later. He would of been a prime candidate to bounce. The fact he never suggests it is a reflection of his ability and shouldn't be underestimated.

Yeah I can see Solness running a big race if he gets to start ok, unlike the farcical start last year.
LDS had a different prep this time so think that may well improve his chances of a big run.
Have Solness wtaf and will probably go in again e/w.
LDS will be added at some point too.
