2026 Stayers Hurdle

Stayers Hurdle form has been pretty weak for the last few years. Won't take much for a new superstar to dominate.

Find it hard to be too confident Teahupoo is that solid like. 1/3 in this race in piss poor renewals. Solid marker, and each way bet maybe. But wouldn't want to be relying on him winning

Suspect it'll be something other than the pair today winning this personally.

The New Lion when he's beaten again next time out...

Wodooh when Lossie gets stuck in the Mares again...

Horrible antepost betting race at the moment I think. Happy enough to sit it out.

Was actually quite interested in Honesty Policy but not heard anything positive recently or even where he'll be starting.

Gordon mentioned not bottoming out Honesty Policy on heavy ground recently.

If he keeps on improving like he did last year he’ll take some stopping. Elliott’s yard were running on fumes at Punchestown last year so I’m marking up his 2nd to Jasmin De Vaux.

I've backed Honesty Policy for this but I would caveat that he didn't start his season till January (albeit ran in a P2P in November) so he did start off a bit later than the rest of Gordy's better horses. Maybe a reason they've not got him out yet as well, to be fair
 
I personally wouldn't be giving up on the Yellow Clay after his first run. I would still have him above anything else if I could only have 1 bet in the race.
 
This race is looking hot at the moment! No doubt some bubbles will be burst at some point but Ballyburn certainly threw himself back into the picture after a disappointing year over fences.

A fantastic five for this race let's hope they all make it.

I've purposefully left out both Honesty Policy & Kabral Du Mathan as I think they have enough to prove at this stage.

One thing I was amazed at though, despite finishing like a train was seeing Ballyburn plenty shorter than Teahupoo. I'm not sure it warranted such a reaction!

I am still not convinced about The New Lion over 2m, think he would not have won if he had stayed upright on Sat, so regardless about what was said after the FF and DS believing he can hack it at 2m, for me he would be a key player in the Stayers and if he was beaten in his next race then his festival target may change with a obvious price crash!

Could certainly come into the reckoning. I've backed him, but Dan Skelton seemed to suggest they see him as a 2 miler. I'll keep the bet for now though. Wouldn't trust Dan's word as far as I could throw him.
 
With Teahupoo looking good yesterday and likely to go straight there, I think we can rule out Wodhooh going for the race. She could potentially still go CH , similar to Irish Poet but the Mares must still be fav.

Would be some JP plot.. get Dan to continue banging the CH drum whilst he and his cohorts mopped up the big ante-post Stayer's prices! Similarities to F2F and the Ryanair last year..

Would make him top heavy in the Stayers with Impose Toi and possibly Honesty Policy. However, Impose Toi is qualified for the Pertemps.

I don't actually see this happening - just surmising..
