2026 Champion Hurdle

Can't help thinking that they've given up the chance of winning the Champion Hurdle twice with her and that it won't be "Third time lucky".

Looking forward to this weekend. Getting started and might see a couple of festival winners🤞
Maybe it at Cheltenham though if last years stat is replicated. I was amazed to read that not one winner at the festival even ran at the November meeting (according to RP).

Only one winner in 2023 went on to win at Festival as well

I forgot Brighterdaysahead and Dinoblue. They need to get beat as well.

Just looked up corresponding meetings from 2023 as well (Cheltenham and Navan)

Just the one winner, Stage Star, went on to win at Fez.

Bit of a trend here !!
Yes, true. But stats are selective. Willie doesn’t usually get going at this time of year - it’s normally left to Gordon to mop up at Navan. So I wouldn’t be surprised in March to see two or three more winners this weekend and at the festival.

Doesn't sound good for Constitution Hill does it. Making excuses even before he's declared for anything now.

And the potential "reserve" being mentioned won't be seen out until at least after Xmas and whose well-being isn't guaranteed!

Always thought that if Gino was to come back this season then they'd not risk him over a fence. It makes sense to me to stick to Hurdles this season at least.

Makes sense, but it's still an "if" and certainly not one I'd part with any cash on until any entries...

Introduced into their betting by two bookmakers now……14/1 to you sir…….

Agree. Couldn't go there at all . He was a seriously sick animal.

He was a very poor hurdler so surely that makes the champion hurdle unlikely? He was very good in the supreme but the champion is a step up so to hurdle as poorly as he does it made total sense to go chasing with him imo.
I think a bit careless over hurdles was the wording used somewhere. Could possibly depend on how he goes this weekend too

Didn't hurt Faugheen

Are you going to compare every decent enough horse who didn’t hurdle well to Faugheen :ROFLMAO: Faugheen was a bit of a freak you only have to look at his record! Apart from that surprise defeat at Punchestown he was just shy of 5 years undefeated over hurdles, including when the injuries started to hit in 2016 where he was only able to run once.

I really think the vibes from the Henderson yard suggest constitution hill is back be amazed if he doesn’t win the fighting fifth Xmas hurdle and the champion hurdle
The new lion has no chance of beating it over 2 miles

I'd say the vibes for him last year were stronger.

I haven't picked up any vibes other that noodle arms saying his engine is still there. I think they have been very hush, hush this time. I can't work out whether that is good or bad. Find out soon enough though. Win the fighting fifth and goes a very warm order in the CH market. It feels like all or nothing with him. If he is fit and gets beat, he becomes just another horse. I also don't think TNL gets anywhere close to THE Constitution Hill but this is Russian Roulette now as to which version he now is.

And that’s what I mean the fact they are not saying anything to me says they are delighted with him but I may be wrong , one thing after Newcastle I will know if my 12/1 ante post voucher means anything

It was a decent price before the State Man news. It's now a good price. If he comes out and proves himself it's the steal of the century :D

Flops in the FF and you slip can join mine in the back of the folder :D

They aren't saying anything because their tails are so tightly squeezed between their legs. IMO
Like Ed Gein dancing in front of his mirror.

He's like a boxer off the back of three successive knockouts.
Not really going to be talking the Big un, given the circumstances.

He needs to show himself.
