2025 Ryanair Chase

Next he'll be saying the form of Master Chewy and Hitman looks tasty:biggrin-new:

Don’t forget the south westerly wind forecast for the Wednesday. He’s reported as only liking winds that come from the north or east.

You think they'll go out of there way not to run him?

There seems to be a bit of a narrative (and it's mainly Quevega) saying that JP decides, blah blah, which ultimately he does, but I read on another thread you saying Willie will get 'told off' for talking about a horses plans, Kawaboomga perhaps

Come off it :highly_amused::love_heart:

Maybe a lesser profile horse, who they are lining up for a handicap, and even then.... they ain't telling Willie shit

He can say what he wants, and will continue to

JP has given enough trainers festival runners so I don't see how this is any different.... it's not like all of a sudden things have changed this season and they are going to start dick swinging for the sake of it

I think the only time JP gets a say is when his money is down

If he comes here, he'll try and do what Allaho accomplished spectacularly under Rachael in 2021. Allaho, though, had both Cheltenham and as crucially, Festival form. IEF has neither.

All we've seen is him dominating at Kempton. That's a big question mark for me.

Fact to File, Djelo and Protektorat could all front run if they wanted, and are better horses IMO than Solness.
You just won't know till the day.
His decision to make really.

And he really ought to look at course configurations also - as Solness wasn't ahead at the first fence at leopardstown as it comes up quick enough, and then there is a massive gap until the second fence where he eventually gets the lead. Then they let him go. Exactly the same both races he stole.

In a champion chase by that point they've already jumped the third, and on the approach to the fourth. It’s hink more about quick accurate jumping early on to get the lead and dominate a Champion Chase from the front, not speed on the flat.

Thing is with Solness, he don’t stop!!
Marine came from off the pace but had to use too
much just to get close enough to have a chance at the end and then Solness went away from him again.
Rest in the race either weren’t good enough or not proper 2 milers.
Thats how I saw it and maybe his trainer saw it that way as well and it’s put him off?
Imo he will get his way in the Ryanair and it’s probably more his distance anyway. Protektorat would sit in behind him I reckon…. if he can!!
FTF and Djelo will be in behind somewhere!!

He's a bigger price on bet365s antepost market now than he is on the exchange. Still 8/1 which is almost double any other bookie. Last matched at 7.6 on exchange.

Yeah, Solness will split opinions for sure.

Mine is that he's nicked 2 grade ones from jockeys that should know better, especially the second time.
Going after one on your own like Marine did (no one else even tried or moved) is hard, and he deserves credit, although with that head carriage I never thought he'd go by him.
And like I said previously, the configuration of Cheltenham will makes things much more difficult for him. And jockeys are not stupid enough to let him roll away for a third time Shirley ?

Drawing conclusions on what trips suit the others in behind is Folly IMO -
basic logic behind that is - they can't all suddenly want a trip because Solness ran away from them, can they ?

No I agree, they can’t.
With the exception of GW imo they are all 2 milers that are either past ie…..CG, GDM, or simply not good enough….Quil,Senecia.
EF is a 2 miler but fell.
Only MN imo could be considered a current good 2 miler as he seems to be improving for each run.
GW is a stayer imo.

Im not convinced it was the jockeys at fault, more the horses they were sitting on just not up to the pace of the race through lack of class now and lack of pace.
I think the trainer of IEF now sees the Ryanair as his best option, and a big part of that is what he saw in Dublin and Ascot.

Il Est Francais running against Fact To File, being the exact opposite of what the trainer said, will not be ideal for me smashing in to Fact To File

My spacehoppers will be shrinking

May as well feed him to the pigs

Again.. Highlights the probability of going that way

Solid as a rock 3.65 on the machine for the Ryanair

Corbetts being declared this weekend is a big red flag re F2F going Ryanair imo.

Why? He needs a run prior to the GC and that trip will sharpen him up. 4 weeks to the GC plenty time.

Ummmmmmm.....I'm dubious

More like he wants to win a pot now and the GC is secondary. That's how I see it.
