2025 Ryanair Chase

Shame he wont make the plans, big frank and JP be deciding that and looks like they haven't spoke on it

You think they'll go out of there way not to run him?

There seems to be a bit of a narrative (and it's mainly Quevega) saying that JP decides, blah blah, which ultimately he does, but I read on another thread you saying Willie will get 'told off' for talking about a horses plans, Kawaboomga perhaps

Come off it :highly_amused::love_heart:

Maybe a lesser profile horse, who they are lining up for a handicap, and even then.... they ain't telling Willie shit

He can say what he wants, and will continue to

JP has given enough trainers festival runners so I don't see how this is any different.... it's not like all of a sudden things have changed this season and they are going to start dick swinging for the sake of it

With how the trainers has already questioned doubt over how he travelled across at Xmas, I can see a world where they just keep him in IRE and aim him there.
Is Jimmy Mangan the type of person that would really want a Ryanair runner? I wouldnt know for sure, but I get the vibes hes probably not 'too' bothered either way especially if he can get him prepped for maybe Punchestown or something.

Yeah I seen that telling Willie comment off, those kind of things I just dismiss in my head straight away...

It was tongue in cheek :devilish:
And Willie has already back peddled on Kawa.

JP only true owner in the Sport, rest are cuck's and fluffers :highly_amused::love_heart:

Just for further clarity in reaction to jim's comments.
The willie being told off was obviously not serious.

However, there is no doubt that trainers of jp horses talk about his horses in a different way than they do with most other owners.
If you don't see or hear that then I can't help you Rolands.

I think they should make them wrestle to decide targets

The trainers and owners, not the horses

Then if a punter really disagrees, we send someone in to wrestle Willie to move Kopek's target etc

I'll volunteer to wrestle the trainer but with the caveat that it only applies if it's Rebecca Curtis !

But she has no high profile cheltenham contender who's target is up in the air?

So what on earth would you be wrestling her for?

The mind boggles.......

I wouldn't like to say it's decision made just yet for Il Est Francais but the money has been coming for him for this race on the exchanges and nothing for the Champion Chase. Last matched at 16 for that race now. Into 6 for the Ryanair.

Fact to File seems to have done the same - edged more Ryanair than Gold cup (16's now) so it's a funny one.
I think the relatively small amounts of money just reflect people having a play.

Think with Corbetts declaring for the weekend it makes Fact to File more likely Gold cup ?
But that will depend on how he runs I suppose and comes out of the race.

Then we have the possibility that JP supplements something for the Gold cup anyway, like Iknowthewayerthinkin.

Trainer of IEF does seem keen to talk though and might be a bit impatient with waiting it out, so it may have some tract.

On RTV yesterday, it sounded more like Ryanair with IEF from the trainer

Said something along the lines of the pace of the champ chase now will be different with Solness in there, and that IEF is a horse that has to have it his own way infront.

16/1 F2F now for the GC on BFX

In my mind, he wouldn't be anyway near that if they were going GC. He's 6/1 ante with Betfair so its a fair swing in the prices.

That explains the move then.
Surprised he's giving Solness so much respect though
Been allowed to dominate, more than being dominant.
Might have same issue in ryanair, depending on who runs. And they might be a better horse.

To be fair it does look potentially tricky in the champion as it stands for front runners as there are a few that might want their own way.

This guy is defeating himself with his complete obsession with every other horse other than his own . How this can reflect positively on the chance of his own horse and how highly he truly rates him is beyond me. I’m quickly getting sick and tired of his lack of conviction and purpose.

I think he'll have more chance to dominate in a Ryanair. I also don't think Gaelic Warrior turns up. I think he still goes for the Champion Chase. They might be of the same thought process.

Solness, Jonbon, Energumene & Gaelic Warrior or Fact To File, Protektorat, El Fabiolo & Djelo?

I think they know IEF has one way to run and one way only and that's setting a furious pace from the front. Solness would challenge that. I'm struggling to find a horse in the Ryanair who is going to tear off like IEF does.

But hasn’t he already said he wants to avoid F2F. He’s just showing weakness and is coming across like a rabbit in the headlights suspended in fear waiting for things around him to unravel and make his decision for him. Surely this is not the mindset you’d have if you had supreme confidence in your own horse. It feels to me like folks on here are more confident about his horse than he is himself. Very very defensively minded imo.

I thought he said about looking at which race looks the 'easiest' I could be wrong though. Did say at the time, when he opened his gob a month or so back, he was leaning towards the easier race, yet didn't discount the Gold Cup over the Ryanair :cower: Because, of course, Galopin Des Champs is so much worse than Fact To File ! Think he was just hoping for a price on the Ryanair to be honest :highly_amused:

Fact to File, Djelo and Protektorat could all front run if they wanted, and are better horses IMO than Solness.
You just won't know till the day.
His decision to make really.

And he really ought to look at course configurations also - as Solness wasn't ahead at the first fence at leopardstown as it comes up quick enough, and then there is a massive gap until the second fence where he eventually gets the lead. Then they let him go. Exactly the same both races he stole.

In a champion chase by that point they've already jumped the third, and on the approach to the fourth. Its more about quick accurate jumping early on to get the lead and dominate a Champion Chase from the front, not speed on the flat.

Next he'll be saying the form of Master Chewy and Hitman looks tasty:biggrin-new:
