Ive been struggling to find a winner for this race. I like Might Bite but it all comes down to how he comes back from the fall. Looking at the rest I fancy Coney Island. He looked very good in the Drinmore when he beat Anibale Fly and jumped great in when he lost to Our Duke. He's shown he can handle a fight and I love that trait in a horse. Looked good on the ground last spring, looks an overall good bet at around 12/1. Anyone else share this view?
I get the feeling this Might Bite is a bit of a flat track bully, alebit a very good one. That performance at Kempton almost looked a little too good to be true for me. I think it can replicate it , but i just get the feeling it will need a similar flat track to do that.
If you look at his Cheltenham form I would say its modest at best. The win there maybe murkies the waters a little bit for me, it won a small field with little opposition. Its other two runs at the track were nothing special, including when I backed it for the hurdle race off top weight when finishing midfield.
I might be barking up the wrong tree with this fella, but I just suspect it will not be able to repeat that performance from Kempton here at Cheltenham. I'd be tempted to wait for Aintree and maybe Punchestown if I owned/trained it.
