Scottish Grand National Meeting

Royale knight 14-1 looks interesting Brendan Powell on top and trainer operating at 63% and I'm in the Kerry Lee camp with ista so I will cover goodtoknow aswell at a big price.

Trend Buster Alert!

After Rule the World beautifully smashed apart some trends last weekend @ 50's :triumphant: I'm feeling another less obvious big winner this weekend from across the emerald Sea….

Fine Rightly for Stuart Crawford and Andrew Lynch. Loves deep ground so any more rain turning up at Ayr will be fine. Reminds me very much of Rule the World (who he beat in March 2015 off level weights) in that the horse has a huge engine but not many gears. He's wonderfully reliable and a good jumper (never failed to complete).

His form this year looks fantastic having beaten My Murphy (subsequent Thyestes winner) off level weights and a keeping on 4th to Empire of Dirt over a short enough 2 1/2 miles giving the winner 21lbs!!! A 3rd in the Irish Gold Cup and recent Grade 3 win on the bridle for which he's been put up just 2lbs suggests his 11-8 might not be enough to stop his class shining through. Has previously won over 3m2f so good chance of getting the trip. Haven't seen a 25-1+ shot I'm been so keen on since RTW last weekend!:devilish:

Good case Lessey. I am not worried about the Irish trained stat but weight on this course a concern for me.

I wonder if he passed up chance for redemption on Golden Chieftain to ride Royale Knight ? That would be a tip in itself ?

I agree with the weight concern but that's reflected in his price. I guess I'm banking on his class to keep him in the mix. If Cause of Causes is 12s carrying top weight, then 28s about Fine Rightly is a steal carrying 4lbs less

Can't find much to be excited about tommorow, but have an interest in Bristol de Mai in a double with Ivan Grozny, then ew on Straidnahanna, lives in the mud and should relish the trip, decent racing weight at a good price, around 33's.
Good luck everyone.

All interests at Ayr for me tomorrow:

2.25 Bristol De Mai - may have a decent plunge on this, is clearly the class act and a long way clear of these for me
3.00 Sternrubin e/w, Hobbs had Wait for Me entered for this too (cost me a few quid on the ante post market !) so the fact he's pulled that one out and gone with this one is notable for me
3.35 Solar Impulse, won a very competitive Chelt race quite comfortably and could have more to come
4.10 Golden Chieftan and Folson Blue e/w, small cover on Goodtoknow
5.50 Mere Ironmonger e/w - won debut at a big price and probably surprised connections, will improve for the experience and this race no tougher

Good luck all

What the hell is that about, running Newbury races at Chelmsford, these flat guys are a breed apart, maybe next year we can have the Cheltenham festival on Southport sands, that would really cut down on the travelling for me, just avoid the full moon because that's when the tide comes in

Can't argue with that isty, you da man at the minute though, I agree about BDM being miles clear, can't really understand why he's a shade of odds against

I'm ducking BDM - he has had a long season and I am not mad about the jockey.

I am on your two SN picks and covered Heathfield. I think Fine Righly could run a big race so might have to cover that.

GL all.

I know Bazza made a case for CoC on class grounds on his blog but I wont be surprised if he doesnt run. At the price FR should give you a good run for your money.

I managed to get 14's on Heathfield the other day thanks to you guys.:encouragement:

I also can't seem to pick any holes in Measureofmydreams, but I am going to go with Vicente at the price.

Highland Lodge @25/1
Heathfield @ 14/1
Vicente @22/1

One day I'll share my Masters and National book with you Mr M, that'll change your view !

Couple more interests:

3.00 Covered my Sternrubin bet with a small e/w on Ch'tbello
4.45 Forest Bihan e/w, a friend put me onto this last night at 16s and has been slashed to around 10s

Bang 5.35 Twist on Ginge - got told they expected big things from this one

Sand Racing:

2.40 Aljazzi e/w 7s
3.15 Log out Island 2s

You have to applaud todays initiative in moving the Newbury card.
Classic trials are crucial to horses and they only get one shot at a classic, had this card been lost there would have been several horses who went to Newmarket undercooked with their chances probably ruined, and that would have a long term impact on their stud value etc which even for us NH fans is vital.
Fair effort by all

Vita du Rock in the sn and the Skelton horse in the hurdle for an each way double. Maybe Heathfield is the one but I will never back a Martin horse again. Hate even backing in a race that he has a runner. Backed Folsom Blue with John C also in an each way double

I'm told Giant Spark is expected to go close in the first at Thirsk, it's being backed too

:encouragement: Heard CW is expected to make the frame at least.

added

Forest Bihan @ 10/1
