I got the Henderson Stable brochure and the one comment that stood out in the 94 page brochure was on I am Maximus "We know how much ability he has but would have to say we just dont know how good he could be and he is one of the most exciting prospects we have had for a very, very long time."

I Am Maximus a general 14/1 now from 50's. Cheers to whoever started the whispers on him !

I've added @ 20/1. Whilst I'm trying not back too many British trained horses ante-post, it was this time two years ago we were wading into Shishkin at 33/1 and I'd say the case re I Am Maximus is marginally stronger, having won at Cheltenham and beating My Drogo. 20/1 feels fair all things considered.

Can someone save us all some time....

Who is the Ricci / Mullins horse this year?

Allez Colombieres, Champagne Fever, Vautour, Douvan, Min, Annamix, Senewalk?

:highly_amused:

On a more serious note, as a general rule I try not get to get carried away by horses we've seen in the Cheltenham Bumper as more often than not, they're too short based on them being 'known entities'. Obviously a few do go on to make the grade and get involved at the business end and it won't be a huge surprise at all if Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit do.... but after those two and Jonbon (who I agree with FinalFurlong91 on above) it's 20/1 bar... which is where I want to be starting off right now.

I Am Maximus now into 20/1 - didn't take the 50/1 as wasn't active enough on here at the time but that looks decent for everyone that's on!

Will check out My Mate Mozzie too after some shrewd notable mentions. and Journey With Me.

Hubrisko 33/1.

Anyone know why Sky have pushed Sir G out? Still fav here but out to 13/2 from 6s. 10s from 8 in Ballymore.

Balancing books? Or news?

Going to post this in the odds movement thread shortly, but they seem to have done a fair bit of book balancing this morning. 9 horses got pushed out in price in the supreme for example, and a further 4 for the Ballymore, without anything shortening in price. Wouldn't read anything into it at this stage.

Think Sir Gerhard is just out of fashion for the time being, there are any number of likely looking rivals as you'd expect and at the price he's been, no real rush to get on board.

They are all way too short. Have we ever had 3 horses under 10/1 at this stage?
Under 8/1 even. They are really taking the piss

Think a fair few of us on here have the bumper and Any race roll up on Sir Gerhard at 33s, definitely short enough in the market for now though.. Until he bolts up on his debut and he goes 4s haha :tongue-new:

I had the bumper and Any Novice Hurdle with Hills at 117/1 so hes pretty well covered for me. (Placed last October)

Hopefully as easy as that! Must admit I do like how upfront henry is. No mention of a bumper for guilly billy either straight over hurdles in a few weeks time starting out around mid-distance which hopefully goes some way toward solving the puzzle of the chevely park novices, and malone road to go chasing although would be sceptical of what ability he may have retained now
