Has anyone had a Cheltenham 2022 punt yet

Took a punt on James du berlais for the arkle next year was bought for chasing the 56’s boasted with hills was too tempting so it begins

Really like the look of Shishkin CC and Energumene Ryanair but thinks its only worth a free bet at this time.
 
I was tempted by a few doubles over Xmas. Only small stakes, but ..

I can see some have strong opinions on this, but relatively new to "proper" ante post punting I was annoyed with myself last year having watched Shishkin win the Supreme I went to at next years Arkle market to find him single figures, missed the price but knowing he would probably be better this season. So this year I decided to get a few in the book for small stakes, those horses who are probably likely to win or go close this year, but should improve next, those "chaser's in the making" or "big raw horses" prime candidates.

I'll be keeping an eye on Gerri Colombe tomorrow in the 17:30 at Naas for next year. He looked very impressive on debut and is a P2P winner. Form isn't overly great however.

Was looking through monmirals breeding earlier and he looks like one who will improve for a fence

Same sire as Djakadam, quito de la roque, saint calvados, burrows saint and many other very useful chasers

Gaillard du mesnil also by this sire
 
I’ve got a sizeable shortlist of horses (some not so obvious) like those in my diary from this year.. I’ll knock them up at some point before going back into hibernation.

If they’re not obvious will they be priced up or will you be requesting they are added ?

Well last year I made the mistake of writing up horses before getting them added and then getting stung. However, I may withdraw from the ante post game next season due to losing another Bet365 cash out concession so the write ups might be just musings with no bets attached. If I am still betting then I’ll 100% be getting them added (probably by friends) before I post on here.

Just had a very small stakes patent:

Sir Gerhard - Ballymore 20/1
Aspire Tower - Arkle 33/1
Bob Olinger - Festival Nov Chase (ex RSA) 25/1

I’m well aware betting 13 months ahead is not smart, even more stupid when you are guessing which of the novice events your three horses take up.
But, if I know it’s a mad bet just think how it looks to the oddsmakers and may well help protect the account....
