The Boodles Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle

Got a hurdle mark of 131, and only 70 on the flat, so it could be a good prep run to keep a mark for the Boodles.

Yes Saxon ! Change 'could be' for 'is' and you'd be spot on I reckon.

Will the Dundalk race be added to the Irish race planning diary for next year ?

Brilliant......:excitement::excitement::excitement:

I am as guilty as anyone for seeing Glorious Zoff's performance as highly promising, although in hindsight, I think that Crassus massively underperformed as his confidence was shaken from the Ballinrobe fall. Still, GZ ought be on a nice mark by now after Sedgefield and Doncaster - to the point that those efforts would struggle to see him get into the race!

I did one of these for the Triumph and while looking at the Fairyhouse race, I figured I would also do one for the Fred Winter. Interestingly (AND THIS IS NOT A TIP), Gordon Elliott runs just one horse in Teahupoo who beat recent Newbury winner Good Ball at Auteuil in a decent time. With the yard not firing at the moment and already having an abundance of Triumph types, I wonder if Teahupoo could be the Fred Winter horse? That said, if he wins against that lot despite the yard being off form then he has another Triumph certainty on his hands.

Incidentally, Diego du Charmil and Katgary were each having their first runs for Paul Nicholls having already earned their marks in France, although he does not have any such types in the yard at the moment. That said, all nine of his placed horses in the race were ex-French hurdlers which this season, gives him Good Ball (126), Hacker des Places (136), Hell Red (134), Houx Gris (130) and Monmiral (143). There's also Siroco Jo who did bobbins on his Kempton debut, but could be feasibly treated as a result.

Thanks for that K, have to say I did some work on him last night and was struggling to see where the interest came from as you say that one performance is the only standout effort if you believe Crassus ran to form.
Plenty of time to improve over timber and he wasn’t a poor flat horse, no doubt there will be a nice race or two for him somewhere just not sure it will be this March...

Well, well...well done Glorious Zoff - the plot thickens and the dream lives on.

Gold in the sand...

Never in doubt, dunno what I was worried about :disillusionment:

Coventry....

Hi Charlie, very convincing case that...... Do you wish to elaborate, if not here then maybe in the handicaps thread. Would be interested to hear your views as looking for other likely possibles for this so would be appreciated.

Did you watch is debut over hurdles? Flat expectations were huge, flat form with Zan right there, banging debut, big odds cause he didn't go JOB, decent trainer, will come on for the run. 40+ available.

Have you got the right horse Charlie? Or have I got the wrong one ? Coventry, 1 hurdle run beaten 12 lengths, trained by Halley?

Haha I hope so. Yeh that's him. I'm blindly following a tip which originated from a decent place in Ireland so its a complete 0.5pt shot in the dark!

Thanks. It did look like a race course schooling in public job on his only run. He needs 2 fairly quick runs to get a mark but you never know !
